Kind of surprised it took this long. I get the impression that Saban is just as disillusioned with the landscape of college football as many of us are. He has nothing to prove. He’s a multi millionaire, and is not willing to play the stupid games that are necessary to win in college football.
This is just another nail in the CFB coffin. Maybe the entire system has to crash and burn before it can be resurrected.

I don't know. A news dump of Pat Shurmur to OC and Dennis Thurman to DC would certainly be lost in this

I think it’s far more likely Prime “retires” than leaves for another HC job

I often think about the 2007 Independence Bowl in Saban's first year and the divergence of those two programs trying to return to glory.
The run of coaches that Bama had pre Saban was rough.

Nah. Lanning is the best option. Lane has things rolling in Oxford. He’ll have one of the best rosters in the $EC next year.
Texas losing Sark would be pretty delicious too.
