Sounds like TCU feels no need to stay in the MWC without the Utah schools. Can't say I blame them; the Frogs have been screwed by conference shifts several times in the past 20 years and are likely sick of conferences they in getting weaker/destroyed (SWC, WAC, CUSA) through no fault of their own.
I think TCU to the Big East makes a ton of sense. That conference is already blessed with great media markets and adding DFW/Texas to the list would be huge. Throw in SMU (big money there has decided they want to be proud of athletics again), Memphis and either ECU/Central Florida and you have a solid 12-team league and keep the BCS spot safe.
I think this means the end of the MWC, however. Them and the WAC will end up taking the best parts of each to get to 12 and one of those leagues dies.
