Per everyone's favorite radio host and sports "journalist"

    http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1261679

Think Bailer's going to waive their right with all the **** that's been going on over on their board? Crap, they may be the key to keeping UT to rot in the Big 12 (-2, -3 , -4?)

Hell I don't think ISU or KSU would either... I like the way this sounds.

    The serfdom will continue.

Of course OU probably still escapes, west, with the Dirty Sanchez in tow. Where does that leave the rest of the stragglers?

    Oh the deliciousness is so...so...delicious!

I bet that aTm can work out a deal with the Big 12 to get the members to play ball.

How? If Baylor is facing conference armageddon, what can aTm possibly offer them as a consolation prize. Same with ISU.

It really depends on whether they are backed into a corner with absolutely no way out. If their only play is the courts, then there is nothing. But the remaining 9 teams have other options. Heck, staying at 9 teams, playing a balanced 8-game conference schedule, and playing 4 OOC games is a viable option. TAMU leaving doesn't kill the Big 12. The conference only dies if Oklahoma or Texas decides to leave.

Thus why I used the term armageddon, meaning the Big 12 being dead then they have no viable options for a soft landing.

The other Big 12 schools do have the votes to disband the conference.

When is Beebe going to step in, save the conference, his job and make revenue equal? At least sweeten the deal for aTm. :bang:

I think Baylor already waived their right. Last ditch effort on their part will not end well for Baylor. Found this on the A&M site

    Dear Mike:

This is to confirm our discussion yesterday during which I informed you that the Big 12
Conference Board of Directors unanimously authorized me to convey to you and their colleagues
in the Southeastern Conference that the Big 12 and its members will not take any legal action for
any possible claims against the SEC or its members relating to the departure of Texas A&M
University from the Big 12 and the admission of Texas A&M into the SEC; provided, however,
that such act by the SEC to admit Texas A&M is publicly confirmed by 5:00 p.m. (CDT) on
    September 8, 2011.
Such admission of Texas A&M will result in the withdrawal of Texas A&M from the Big 12
Conference effective June 30, 2012. We both agreed it is in the best interests of each of our
conferences and our member institutions of higher education to waive any and all legal actions
by either conference and its members resulting from admission of Texas A&M into the SEC, as
long as such admission is confirmed publicly by September 8, 2011.
If any of your presidents and chancellors have concerns about this commitment of the Big 12
Conference, they may contact me or Brady Deaton, Big 12 Board of Director chairman and
chancellor of the University of Missouri, Columbia.

    Sincerely,

    Dan Beebe

    Commissioner

My TTU buddy said that Baylor is standing down on legal action regarding TAMU, but have threatened the SEC if the SEC takes another team from the conference (Mizzou)

That would be allsome if Mizzou gets left at the alter again and the result is the Big12-2-1 stays intact.

Last year they jumped too early...this year they waited too long?

Serves them right for breaking our scoring streak.

This all sounds great with the lesser schools paying back the Horns and all, but I fear that eventually, Texas will get what it needs to get to keep it's mighty status.
I'd rather just see a solution that works for them that doesn't include them in the Pac-12/16.. If we're going to expand into 16-Team conferences and a playoff system, I think the SEC is the best place for them.

I don't think Mizzou will get ****ed out of another conference jump. If they want to go, I think the Texas Ten errr Nine  will let them.

Instead, UT is going to just try to fill in all the spots with old SWC castoffs, with a few MWC members maybe. You know BYU, CSU, and UNM would take a nice yearly UT and OU ass-reaming just to sit at the big kids' table. AFA would say no thanks, but none of the rest of them would. Add remaining 9, SMU, Houston and one of those three, and voila! A conference UT, OU, and OSU can beat into smithereens annually.
