5 Oline coaches in 6 years will do that. Now we're going on coach nr 6...This is what is most puzzling as a whole. These guys are huge, athletic, have experience, have each had great individual games and moments, but as a unit are terrible and self-destruct constantly. They seem like very good lineman... are they overrated? Uncoachable? Horrifically coached? Quit on their coach? Does anyone have more info about how Givens got those two penalties? (scream)
WTF? Is it the coach?
- Can't run block
- Can't pass block
- Stupid personal fouls
- Constant False starts

Stuart needs to get that fumble messed fixed and QUICK!

Not that I disagree, but this game was won and lost on the redzone mistakes and turnovers. I didn't see the game and barely was able to listen, but the O was moving the ball well until it got close to the goal line. Then it seemed like the would want to **** themselves for getting so close.
It was quite pathetic the way they gave this game away with stupid ass penalties and TO's. Stuart needs to get that fumble messed fixed and QUICK!
Why? To save this great season!
He doesn't have a history with fumbles. I'd imagine it's already fixed.
I think he had 1 before yesterdaydon't think he has a major history, But hasn't he but a couple others on the turf this year? He hasn't lost all of them, but still don't want it to become issue.
:yeahthat::bowdown:Good teams figure out or decide what they are going to be good at and do it. They play the players who can execute that focus, they spend their practice time and film time on that focus, and they are expected by the coaches and each other to perform.
Some teams are built around the run (Air Force, WVU, etc.) some around a pro set passing game or a spread passing game. Some team identify as uptempo teams or as gadget teams that you have to worry about doing something unpredictable.
In the four years that Hawk has been here this team has never had an identity to grab onto. Last year we were supposively a no-huddle team, as soon as we got in trouble we abandonded it. The year before we were going to pass out of an open formation (not quite a spread but with characteristics,) when we had some trouble we abandonded it. This year all off season we heard about smashmouth and running the rock, 1 1/2 quarters into CSU and we abandon it.
I believe that all of our players have suffered from a lack of focus, a lack of identity. Nobody knows from week to week what we will be doing and who will be responsible for doing it. A player has a big game, works his butt off in practice and the following week spends most of the game on the bench watching a walk-on playing a mediocre or worse game.
This is especially damaging to the O-line, moreso than any other unit on the field they have to be able to work as one unit. They have to be prepared and have confidence in their fellow players to adapt on the fly to blitzes, to line stunts, to alignment shifts and to all the other things that defenses do to try to get defensive playmakers in an unblocked situation. The constant change in coaches and the constant change in gameplan along with the constant change in personel (and positions) has made this set of talented but young linemen severely underperform.

the amazing thing...about this...the buffs did just as well last year with only 6 o-linemen...what makes anyone think that this group will be any better next week or next year? bottom line...they are bad, plain bad:sad2:
