Despite my fears of the texas cancer joing the 12 pac, I find this **** awesome.
OU makes its move, want Beebe fired, LHN changed if they are to stay
Pretty strong quotes on Beebe
OU's foot is out the door if they know they have an invite. This is all about making OU look good before they bolt.
Hells to the yeah!
Loved this quote:

That´s the money quote IMO
Agree, they're taking their parting shots and leaving.
Well what a shocker! There's a perception that Beebe is Dodds' poolboy. Who'd a thunk it?
more like the piss boy-
Once, Germany issued a similar statement to Poland. Only this time, instead of invading if its demands are not met, Germany is going on vacation to California.
I believe you're referring to West Virginia.
If OU is in fact accepted and joins the PAC, why would the Presidents think about bringing on UT given this acrimony?
This is awesome, plus it's laying out some ground rules if UT wants to join any conference OU is joining (read: Pac-12).Of course, I hope they get everything they want and stay.
Or there is more resistance in the PAC than was initially thought and adding OU and OSU is not the slam dunk that it was thought to be last week. In this case OU is either laying the groundwork for leaving OSU behind ("We tried, we really did, but couldn't make it happen and have no choice now but to go alone.") or is using the threat of going to the PAC, knowing that it isn't actually happening, to insure that UT isn't calling the shots in the "new" Big XII.
C'mon sacky, easy source here. The okie leak has been reading AllBuffs.
Personally, I think OU has just upgraded this to a serious pissing contest with UT. They know UT needs them to keep the LHN, and they know if they leave to the Pac 12 then UT has to give up the LHN to follow. Serious guantlet dropping going on.
I find myself rooting for OU for the first time in a long time.
I don't see that at all. OU is trying to get UT in order to save the Big 12. If they don't share something with the LHN they'll take Okie State with them to the Pac 12.
Dan Beebe is trending on Twitter
That's gold, Jerry...gold! REP!
Sounds like Slade's been a busy boy....
This is hilarious.
This whole realignment is more fun, crazy and dramatic than jerry Springer! Are OU and UT going break up? "way to speak your mind OU! You go girl! Kick that Beebe to the curb!"
Fack! That's a helluva exit interview...
So the question is: what happens if they do fire Beebe and give in to OU's demands? Do they stay? If so, then it can be argued that it is OU that is running the conference - a direct contradiction of their stated purpose here.
OU can go to the Pac and get equal revenue but will have to fight through a 16 team conference to get to MNC. If they can get Texas to share revenue, they get to wade through a revamped Big 12 and essentially only have to compete with UT for conference championships every year.
The problem is they picked this fight too late. With the ACC going to 14 and the SEC essentially at 13, even if UT caves I don't see a revamped Big 12 lasting even if they get back to 12.
OU is no UT...that is the first thing that comes to mind. OU still ruled the Big 12 in football even if UT tried to prevent that from happening.
That´s if OU is acting on its own here. Which I doubt.
B12 presidents gave Dan Beebe a 4 year extension until 2015 in June. He´s got about 4m left on his contract.
This is significant.
In addition just like CU wants to stay connected with the west coast now that we are in the PAC OU would rather stay connected with Texas. Our biggest alumni base outside of Colorado and a significant source of donations is in California. OU can say exactly the same about Texas. Their alumni core outside of Oklahoma is in Dallas and Houston. If their conference revenue issues can be taken care of and they feel like they can get a fair shake their preference is to stay with the Big XII.
The most refreshing thing to me is schools actually growing a pair and not accepting whats been going on.
