Doesn't the NCAA require 12 teams and 2 divisions for a title game?

Won't happen. As the articles stated, there are NCAA rules that prohibit this which would need to be changed. Further, there is a logic gap. Why would a conference that plays a full round robin regular season schedule need to add a conference championship game? If you already beat someone, why do you need to beat them again?

I think they are just testing the waters to see what kind of reaction they can get from the NCAA to stratigize what direction is best for them (P10) to proceed in. I also think it's just another way for them to stir the pot.

I would think the Big 12 would support this rule change if proposed, so they can try to protect their membership. The SEC and ACC would probably vote against it to try and protect their championship game "hype". The Big East, Big Ten, Pac-10, MWC, and WAC would probably all vote to support it for different reasons.

Highly doubt that it would be successful in being passed overall.
