Who will be the team offensive MVP?
:yeahthat: Those five guys are the keyI am going to go with the OL as a whole, I know kind of an obvious pick, but I think that it was our weak spot last year and it will be our strong spot this year. Game is decided in the trenches.

The QB is still the key to the entire offense. Good play by the QB will be the difference in winning and losing season.
Our QB situation was so terrible during the Barnett era. Hodge... jebus.I disagree, while good QB play is gonna be huge, it is not gonna be the difference between a losing and winning season. 14er nailed it best with the line. We have had some decent seasons with an average QB when our o-line and running game were good, most notably 2002 when Robert Hodge led the charge for most of the season at QB.

Robert Hodge did have that one game against Kstate.... but I would not say he was "successful".That was an entirely different offensive philosophy, though. Robert Hodge was successful because the running game dominated. The run set up the entire offense. Under Hawkins so far we have used the pass to set up the running game.

hope you are right. Cody has been the guy cause he looked better in the spring. If Tyler takes the job, awesome. However, I am NOT worried about QB this year. I know what we will get out of Cody even if TH doesn't take the job. I consider QB a "known element". The wild cards are the Oline and WR's....Everyone is assuming Cody is the guy. Don't count out my choice, Tyler. He is ready! Ask any receiver and OL who have worked with him this summer. There has been ALOT of media and blog excitement over Cody. OK, just wait and see this August. Tyler thrives off of competition.

I want more comedy options.
I have to go with the o-line as well. To take it a notch further I will say Nate Solder (with Bryce Givens winning R-O-Y over Simas). After watching most of the highlights from last season, one glaring event I noticed over and over was how the running backs had to make a move in the back field to avoid a defender and gain the line of scrimmage. Often times they would then gain 6+ yards after the move (and this again is why it is in the highlights for the Buffs in 08). While watching the footage, I kept thinking to myself ‘ Imagine the stats the RB’s would have if they were making their first move/cut on the opponents side of the ball.’ After playing back some of the big runs, along with watching how the linemen blocked the plays, you can see how often the o-lines first step off the snap was lateral. I know D. Johnson has made the point that he wants to attack the opposing d, and play on their side. If this happens the RB’s should have great stats, which will be due to the line and they are the ones who will deserve the credit.
In the NU game last year Nate blocked extremely well, and most of our good runs went to the left. I know the left side is supposed to be the pass protection side, with the right side for the running attack. If Nate continues to improve opposing D’s will have a difficult time trying to guess where we are going to run at them, and making run blitz’s difficult.
