With Shane Dillon committing to the Buffs today, it was asked if any other prospects in the area are on our radar. Thanks to White Rabbit for identifying some of these prospects in the Shane Dillon thread. These players are all in San Diego County:
Taylor McNamara-TE out of the San Diego area that has offers from all over the place. He is good friends with Dillon and we should get a visit (unofficial, official, or both) from him. We have a pretty good shot here.
Eric Magnuson-In a year of highly rated prospects up and down the west coast, Magnuson's stock might have risen the most during the spring. He is a borderline 5* prospect and will have his choice of schools. He is friends with Dillon, but seems wide open right now.
Asante Gibson-Intriguing safety prospect out of Chula Vista that missed most of his junior season with a broken ankle. However, he had a solid sophomore season and showed well at camps last summer, so the offers could come with more solid showings in camps this summer.
M.J. Bailey-Two way athlete out of San Marcos who is starting to get looks from several Pac-12 schools. He played quarterback out of the option for his high school as a junior, but projects as a wide receiver or safety at the next level.
There are other prospects out there and some will rise up during the season, but it appears to be a bit of a down year in San Diego County, although the two prospects at the top are elite.
