Brittany took the assignment of guarding Jazmine Davis, who came in as the #2 scorer in the Pac-12 at over 19 ppg.

B-Wil took her to school.

Davis scored 9 points on 2/13 shooting. Only the 2nd time she's been held to single digits.

Wilson answered her with 13 points on 5/7 shooting.

Yes, Arielle led all scorers with 16. Reese hit clutch baskets down the stretch. And Chucky had another double-double.

But in our most important game of the year, B-Wil was our player of the game.

(And if she isn't on the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team this year, it is robbery.)

This season, B Wil has learned to focus and play defense. She is assigned to the best shooter on the other team and pretty much does the job, just like she did today. She had Davis totally frustrated today, totally frustrated. Davis didn't get a field goal until 2:39 seconds remained in the game. Game was by no means over at that point.

B Wil has become the defensive specialist of the team. I did like that Chucky had 13 rebounds. I think they were all defensive.

This afternoon wasn't the first time B-Wil has shut down a major scoring threat and it won't be the last. She has really improved since she first go here as has Ashley. Next season Brittany will be the team leader. She's been important to CU's success this season and next she will be critical.

One of the best decisions made by Lappe this season was to have Ashley's knee surgery. The kid can play extended minutes now and she could not do that before the surgery. She would have most likely been either playing less than 5 minutes a game or totally sidelined.
