BOULDER - The University of Colorado volleyball team started its spring practice on March 5 and will now have a chance to put that practice to a test at the first spring tournament of the season on Saturday, March 16, at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

The Buffs, who only lost Michelle Miller to graduation after the 2012 season, will travel south on I-25 for a couple of scrimmages at the academy just north of Colorado Springs, Colo. The tournament will start at 10 a.m. and will run approximately until 3:30 p.m.

This tournament is the first of four for the Buffs this spring. The next tournament will be on April 13 at the Coors Events Center. On April 20, the Buffs will travel to Kearney, Neb. for another tournament. The final date is yet to be determined.

Colorado finished the 2012 season with a 14-18 overall record. The Buffs finished the non-conference season with a 10-2 record and got off to an 11-2 start to the season, one of the best ever in school history. CU finished the Pac-12 season 4-16; tying for 10[SUP]th[/SUP] in the final league standings.
