not exactly sure how to describe what i feel. but, there's partly excitement there.
Me either. It's sort of like the dentist visit, love the gas, hate the drilling, that about sums it up for me....
No... I think I'll be more fired up once the season starts but right now I'm still pissed that Dan Talkins and the rest of his clowns (save for Ambrose and Prince) are still here...
I can't really get all that excited any more. We have had "great" Spring Practices for the past 4 years.
C'mon, I think this will be the best Spring Hawk and Co. have EVER had here.....
Don't care for spring football anymore. If I watch them and they look good, I'll be all like, "Oh **** we are gonna be good and wins games and **** and people will be surprised and impressed, oh yeah happiness woo woo." Then we won't be good, we'll lose and people will continue to criticize. If I watch them and they look bad, I'll be all like, "Oh damn argh I'm ****ing pissed we didn't get a new coach **** we will lose so many games cocks and titties." Then we will lose, but I'll be pissed even though it was expected and no there wont be any happy and titties.
Yall sound like me, I had pretty good expectations last year and it didnt go so good. This year, I have about zero, so maybe they will surprise us. Never thought Id be happy with just a bowl appearance with CU but I would.
I'm dreading the forthcoming raking over the coals by the frustrated members of buffnation that will occur each time Coach Hawkins opens his mouth and is quoted in the press. Any discussion about QBs are bound to suck. The silence of the offseason has been golden.
I do miss football, though.
For the first time in memory, not feeling any excitement. Just looking forward to seeing if the team rebounds or Hawk gets bounced and if the Pac 10 deal goes through.
I'm kind of focused on basketball this week. But I'm still pretty excited that spring practices are starting up. I'll be eager to learn who is moving up the depth chart, seeing some new interviews with the guys, getting a first look at some of the new guys, etc. But mostly I'm just hoping no one gets seriously hurt. Nothing they can say or do at this point can get me too high for CU football. Only a beatdown of CSU will get me truly fired up.
Maybe if we treated it like a drinking game. You know, take a shot for every time Hawk says "Awesome", or "little things", or "squared away", or some dorky euphamism for working hard like "lunchpail" and "horns out". It could be like the Brent Musberger drinking game. :woot:
Going against the grain. Yeah, I'm anxious to hear something....anything....regarding my beloved Buffs. Don't get much info down here in the land of squirrly winds. I like the updates on this board, posted by folks who attend the practices/scrimmages, and are good enough to take the time to share it with all of us. So, yeah, I can't wait for the spring-gig to start.
If that was a quote from Charlie Wilson's War, then: Well said, you monk, you.
Sounds good to me.:smile2:
im somewhat excited. i really want to hear how hirschman looks and see how MTM progresses. i might even make it up to watch one.
I believe it was a quote from that movie. However, it's also a standard comment from Talkins when responding to Q&A sessions with the press.
I won't say I'm excited, but I'm pretty interested. No more excuses for Hawk to use, although I said that last year..
Hansen tearing our defense up instead of Cody. Finally some of the highly rated recruits from recent classes should be on the field as starters. Find out who is going nuts in Spring only to disappear when Fall comes around. Team speed should be up at the skill positions, big uglies getting older and stronger and dare I say it, sound technically?
I don't believe that alcohol was on the banned list for items at spring prctices (as long as you aren't drinking with your pet). Although I would recommend doing 1oz shots of beer, as it will turn into more of a centruty club drinking game.
i'd like to add "buy-in" (a staple of Spring ball Hawkisms), "getting into a rhythm", "doing things a little bit funky" and anytime that gawdawful straw hat appears in a photo as drinkable items. references to improved S&C probably have a representative as well.
I feel sorry for your livers....
and brang da amberlamps
Cuz we'z be leak'in...bad.
Any photos of players pushing wheelbarrows = entire beer.
It's back - Hawk Aid! You could also be joking?
I do thank him for keeping his mouth shut so far - just STFU and win a football game.
"This place was burned to the ground when I first got here".
Yes, I was joking. I will take Hawk seriously when he has a winning product on the field.
