Last night clearly showed some of the teams short comings. CU's O-line and D-line aren't very good. Granted, CSU's O-line wasn't bad and better than expected. With that said, CU is the 10th youngest team in D1 as far as starters and we all knew this was going to take some time. Step back from the ledge. I think 5 wins this season was both optimistic but yet realistic. I believe the team is far better than the dumpster fire from the past few years. Go to the games, support the team. It's a building process.

If you don't want to see panic... or completely over the top sunshine following a win... the best policy is to stay off the board for at least 2 days following a game.

This week, the important thing is for this young team not to let CSU beat them twice. Go to UMass, take some steps forward while getting a win.

2011 and 2013 teams were better than this year's edition.

Agree. CSU was the better team. They were bigger and stronger on both lines.

A blind man could see it with a cane.

I know we hate it, but it's true.

Could we have beat them with P-Rich?

    Maybe.

Remember in the Hawkins era when we were told over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again about how young the team was, every year? Somewhere in the endless repetition of youth superlatives lied a tacit argument that the players were guaranteed to be good once they got older because... well, because they were young then. Guess what? They got older, but they didn't become good players.

I conjecture that quite often, players who are bad when they are young remain bad when they are a little bit less young.

So we want to improve recruiting and get immediate impact players yet not be a young team again. Sounds like that argument collapses on itself.

5 wins my ass. 2, maybe three. OL and DL suck. you can't win much with those two pieces missing.

My neighborhood street football team won all the time without an OL or DL. But then again, the QB just snapped it to himself to start the play. And sometimes the oldest kid was the "all time QB." Our kickoff coverage was excellent as well. But "P for K!" allows you to get a lot of height on your "kicks."

I agree to a point. But there's a load of difference between a 19 yr old and 21 yr old physically and mentally. I'm not trying to float the boat, the team has a lot of holes and depth issues. I'm just not going to pile on b/c suddenly we lost to ****ing CSU. If someone thought it was a gimme, they are pretty stupid.

I'm not panicking. I just got a chilly dose of reality. I'm pissed at myself for believing that we were starting to finally pull out of the deep, dark hole we've occupied for seven years. We aren't. We are firmly entrenched in that hole for the foreseeable future. I'm still a fan. I still go to games, but my give a ***** meter is on low.

The DL is kinda important. It is fair to question that area getting much better going forward.

Why would anyone panic? If recruiting rankings are even remotely valid, we should crack the top 80 within the next five years.

5 wins? I don't see it. I mean it's not impossible I suppose. Line play, tackling, etc. better improve 100 fold, maybe more lol. Everybody here wants the Buffs to prove us wrong, I'm no different. More importantly, they need to play with some attitude and go in planning to win, not hoping.
