Anyone got confirmation of this rumor? With Hirsh on campus, it makes some sense... But still, crushing to BCS.

No not at all... either way he'll dominate... hell be the first TE Heisman winner since Tim TebowAnyone got confirmation of this rumor? With Hirsh on campus, it makes some sense... But still, crushing to BCS.
sure would be nice to have ray polk at rb now, wouldnt it?
I see this happening but not this year. He has to be the 3rd stringer this year. I don't want Nick put in the position of losing a redshirt year if Tyler and Cody both are hurt.

How does Moten play into all of this, I know he probably won't end up at QB, but was promised a shot.
his rumor is that he is already practicing with the DBs.
Didn't we just sign three tightends this cycle. With Thorton and Dehann coming back. Makes a lot of sense to move a guy that's always played qb to tightend.
So let's play this out. This year Tyler is the guy. Let's say in '11 that him and Nick battle for the starting job and Nick gets it. Tyler still has a redshirt year. He will leave, no way he is going to be a backup as a senior. Then we have Nick with Seth Labato as the backup and six guys playing tightend. Sometimes you have to look a year or two down the line.

you're also assuming a) all these tight ends make it in. there is a serious chance mobley doesn't. and b) none of them will be moved to de.
I don't think I like this. After this year Cody graduates we will have Hansen, Hirschman, 2011 recruit(Berglund?) and Lobato? I know Moten is supposed to get a shot at QB, but I doubt he stays there for long. I suppose it's alright as long as they think pretty highly of Hirschman, but that would be bordering on pretty thin depth at the most important position on the team. I'd rather they overload at QB to make sure they have someone to step in. What happened with Evans anyway, his throwing motion is really that bad?

After watching him in practice and scrimmages his throwing motion was terrible. He made Tebow's motion look good. Took almost 2 seconds from the wind up to the release. He threw a nice looking deep ball but everything that was an intermediate or short throw he threw low and into the ground. Could he be a productive QB? Sure, but it would take a few more years of completely reworking his throwing motion.
How do you not see that when recruiting the kid?

Don't we have redshirt seasons to fix stuff like this?? I expect a lot of improvement from last spring to this spring, if not what exactly did the staff do with him this past year???
http://www.buffzone.com/ci_14474954Meanwhile, redshirt freshman Clark Evans and true freshman Josh Moten, both of whom were recruited to CU as quarterbacks a year ago, appear ticketed for other positions. No position changes have been announced by the coaching staff but players said Evans has been working at tight end and Moten has been playing cornerback in seven-on-seven.
I like the move too. I think the coaches were banking on Evans' athleticism all along if QB did not work out, which is why they had Wynn in the fold for a while too.
It does leave some questions at QB though. We now a pretty big gap between Hansen and the underclassmen. Would not surprise me if the coaches look at the JUCO ranks this year and try to sign two QBs.
