BOULDER —The University of Colorado track and field team will host the CU Invitational this Friday and Saturday, April 12-13, at Potts Field.

The men’s and women’s javelin and hammer throws will be contested on Friday, starting at 2 p.m. Saturday’s events will start at 11 a.m. with the shot put, discus, pole vault, long jump, high jump and steeplechase.

The field events will run on a rolling schedule while the track events will follow a time schedule. The final event scheduled for the track is the men’s 4x400-meter relay at 3:30 p.m.

The Buffaloes will host many Front Range schools this weekend. Adams State, Colorado Christian, Colorado State, Colorado Mesa, Colorado School of Mines, Metro State, Northern Colorado, UC-Colorado Springs and Western State will compete along with many unattached athletes.

The forecast for Friday is a high of 51 F and partly cloudy early followed by mostly cloudy skies and a few showers later in the day.

Saturday’s outlook is also partly cloudy with a high of 64 F (as of Thursday afternoon). Should inclement weather force a cancellation of the meet, such notice will be posted on www.CUBuffs.com as well as a message left on the track and field office voice mail at 303/492-5227.
