Common thread with all the predictions (Rumblin + Adam/RK/Ziskin) is that they all say that the team will be better but then assume that CU won't beat anyone with a pulse.

I love when low expectations meet #Tadball. This is going to be a fun season.

Still amazes me how this team struggles to take care of the ball.
I also want to know who got 9 fouls in one scrimmage.

If I had to guess, it would be Tre or Tory.

You guys aren't going to want to hear this, but from what I've heard it was Dom.

It was the ghost of Dustin Thomas, and he picked up all 9 of those fouls in 42 seconds of playing time.

Makes sense, Dom reaches a lot.

Any comments on how the inbounds play will be improved this year?

alright... If we had that many turnovers, you had to expect they were primarily from our point guard - Dom. Add to that he's fouling like crazy and this is cause for alarm.

Or not. I don't know jack.

I understand the fouling, it is a practice and the coaches probably were trying to work on something with Dom playing tight the whole scrimmage. Obviously in a game if he got a quick foul or two he would probably stop pressing as much defensively. The turnovers are what concerns me, if the buffs return to playing great defense the one thing that would hurt them is turning the ball over and giving up easy buckets in transition. They need to play good defense and sound offense, not necessarily explosive offense.

Players usually have a good jump between their Freshman and Sophomore seasons, both physically and mentally (the game slows down for them). Perhaps Dom is a late bloomer. I expect to see a lot of Xavier Talton in his final season, he showed a calming presence his sophomore year. I think he will be a bright spot in the backcourt, particularly if Dom struggles and XT's minutes increase.

I also believe this would be a 20+ win season if XJ was playing. It will be interesting to see who steps up their production and if a true leader emerges on the team (an element that was sorely missed last year).

That's great if we get the "calm" XT from his sophomore year and we don't get the frantic XT from his junior year.

That's a big key to this season, I think. If XT can be a steady senior guard who plays within himself, d's up, keeps the ball moving and knocks down his open 3pt looks at 35+%... and he's absolutely capable of all that... then with what I expect from Fortune we have guards that will be tourney-quality once Dom hits his groove.

That would be huge. XT has to stay within himself. I really like him when he's controlled and composed. It's when he tries to play outside his means that he tends to get in trouble. He can NOT repeat last year's ORtg of 83.4 (with an ORtg of 60.1 vs top 100 teams).

I think if we get what is expected out of Fortune and Dom, this is exactly what we will see from Little X. The pressure is going to be on Fortune and Dom and a lot less on XT this year and that will be a good thing.

I'm less than concerned about Dom in a scrimmage. After last year all I want XT to do is not turn the ball over and stay in front of his guy on D.

I agree with this when we're not running our pick and roll sets. Otherwise, there's a lot of pressure on all our ballhandlers to get in the paint and make a play.
