BOULDER – For the first time this Pac-12 Conference season, the University of Colorado women’s tennis team reached the winners circle taking a 4-3 win over the Washington State Cougars, Sunday afternoon at the South Campus Courts.

The victory broke a six-match Pac-12 skid for the Buffaloes this season (1-6) and improved their overall record to 10-8. The Cougars remain winless in conference play at 0-8 and fall to 12-10 overall.

Ironically, Sunday’s win comes on the same day when CU last won a conference match (March 29, 2013), defeating Oregon at the South Campus Courts, 5-2. The win over Washington State also snaps a 19-match conference skid.

Congrats to the tennis team for their 1st conference win in 2 years!

Not coincidentally (I'm assuming), it came when the Buff's #1 player all non-conference (freshman Tina Bokhua) was finally able to play again after recovering from an injury that has kept her off the court (at least in singles) since the 1st conference match many weeks ago.

Hope they take it to the DU Pioneers this Friday!

Congrats to the team. I believe that it was also the first time this conference season that they have won the doubles point. In college matches, the double point is always so important and it definitely was today.
