You guys may not have a job in a few weeks but your are still visiting the recruits and trying to keep them committed to the school. Thanks Cabral and Scherer, especially Scherer who is flying to try to keep a rightfully antsy Sefo in the fold.

a few short weeks ago, Embo told BC that BC was out as LB coach and should retire.....yet it is BC who is still repping the Black and Gold. Love that guy.

Agreed. I was pretty shocked to hear that we still had assistant coaches out on the recruiting trail with no head coach in place. No surprise at all that Coach Cabral is one of them. Class guy and a GREAT Buff.

Which if any of the current assistants stay should be entirely up to the new coach. I have been on record as promoting Kanavis for at least an interview, I think he is a rising star in the business and could be CUs next Cabral, a position coach that is identified as a part of the program as more than just a coach.

I love Cabral, he is a Buff to the core and has also been a damn good coach in addition to being great with the kids outside of football. We also know that his knees are going on him and he may have burned out some. Who wouldn't after seven years of Hawk+JE?

I don't know if he would be interested but I wonder if a donor might step up and fund a position for Cabral working with kids to make the academic and social adjustment from their home neighborhoods to college and a place like Boulder. In this roll he could significantly impact our graduation rate, cut the rate of recruits we are losing, and indirectly help recruiting. He may be interested since it would be a new challenge, at heart he has always been about the kids, and it is something different he could do without the stress on his knees without completely separating himself from the university and from football/athletics.

JE's staff couldn't get it done on gameday's, but still showing the heart of a Buffalo!

I second that. Would love to see him stay if he wants to.

I agree. Even though our linebackers were underwhelming this year, I find it hard to believe he suddenly forgot how to coach. New coaches decision though.

Bump for dedication of our staff.

Also agree we shouldn't force any coaches upon the next head coach, but I would be plenty ok with Kanavis as our recruiting coordinator.

At this rate, Cabral may/could end being our HC for 2013. Worse things have happened.

:yeahthat:

And a big :congrats:to the remaining staff still on contract and continuing to do their best for the team/CU even though they know their days are short. TRUE BUFFS!

Yeah, I figured you were trying to be "cute". Criminy - they know they're done, but yet there they are still working to the end, doing everything they can to continue to help the team and reassure what recruits we do have and here you are continuing to deride and humiliate them.

Real class, man.

You need to take a chill pill submarine boy. It was a light hearted statement, but since you want to make an issue of it. Guess what, our Ass coaches are getting PAID TO DO THEIR JOBS! Just like the rest of us working stiffs. This isn't a ****ing charity and they aren't curing cancer. If they would have done their jobs in the regular season they wouldn't be in this position. Poor victims and their 6 figure salaries...:violin:

Please.

These coaches could have EASILY hung it up and said "**** it" like Hawk and his crew (minus Cabral) did and not taken any interest in the kids who are a) still there b) we are recruiting. Did you even read the thread where Kisima Jagne's family talks about Kanavis flying down personally to reassure them that no matter what happens to the staff they are still Buffs? How about Jeff Thomas' mom who posts about the coaches (and Bohn) reaching out to them to reassure Jeff? Read those posts? And yet you want to make a "light hearted" statement about Cabral, Kanavis, and Scherer being asses? Give me a break.

I agree we all have jobs to do and so do they - but unlike Hawkins and his crew (aside from Cabral) in 2010, these guys aren't just sitting back and collecting the check.

+1

They could very easily be spending their time looking for their next job, instead they are still doing the job they agreed to do. It is easy to criticize the results they had in two years and easier to criticize the disgusting way that Embree made his exit but unlike the Hawk crew, even with their failures a lot of these guys are still faithful to the program.

Was gonna have to let him go as the d coord was a LB coach. Not forcing Cabral out... More of numbers game. Not to mention Cabral was the D run coord.
