This game was his. The defense, while better, still gave up over 400 yards through the air and some flat out redonkulous 3rd down conversions. Hansen didn't get rattled, although he could have after that fumble deep in our territory in the third quarter. The kid did what we've been waiting YEARS for - he willed the team to victory. Damn, that was awesome.

We would have lost had #7 been the QB in this one. With Hansen, I think any game with except maybe Okie St is winnable. Although next week scares me a little. Very nice win, and some nice QB play we haven't seen in a long time.

There is no chance we win this game with Cody.

Tyler converted many, many plays that would have stalled numerous drives. He even had some plays where the WR/RB dropped an easy pass.

Two straight series TH made great plays with his feet, somehow got off perfect throws, and Sumler and Stewart flat out dropped the ball....

The third time he did it he got a completion to Geer, though....

And yes, this offense seems to be totally different with the added threat that TH brings to the lineup - with his feet and his arm....

This is one proud buff fan tonight, and cody, this kid is as classy as they come. Hansen will only get better but cody is a young man who deserves our respect.

    Feels good, real good!

Tyler, you are the QB we've been waiting for!

    Pun intended.

Hansen's throws to Sumler and Speedy on third down were catchable.
It was nice seeing Will Jeff move the chains. Simas was a target. Hansen to Geer for the TD was just good football. I like seeing the TEs being targeted. Scotty isn't the only WR with Hansen.

Simas dropped one as well that was right in his hands that would have been a nice 8 yard gain.

Thank you to Hansen and thank you to Cody Hawkins. I don't think Hansen picks himself up after some of those miscues or turnovers without Cody being there and patting him on the back and telling him to forget it. He really looked prepared and I don't think Cody didn't have a hand in that.

Hansen has so much potential. He should have been starting a lot sooner than this game. Either way, I'm happy for him, and I'm glad he's our guy now.

In many ways he out-Reesinged Mr. Reesing himself.

What Reesing has is unbelievable receivers that catch passes even when they're covered.

But TH was awesome out of the pocket, moving around making plays with both his arm and his legs and sometimes his legs and his arms...you get the idea.

Anyway, he looked like he was in charge...much better than last season. Very, very Reesing, and that's intended as a compliment.

The big difference is Reesing threw for over 400, and when Reesing improvises, Briscoe and Meier were often there for the catch. When Reesing scambles, he's an assassin. KU has the best passing threat in the B12.

Hansen has that potential on the pitching side, but those WR's aren't in sync yet. The defense complemented Hansen and improved Tyler's offensive stock with those two first half turnovers and impressive 3rd down stands.

Yes, that's roughly what I was trying to say. Hansen did everything that Reesing does, and maybe proved even more elusive and possibly more accurate. I dunno, maybe not. I've got a lot of respect for how Reesing plays the game.

What he didn't have was a posse of perfectly covered receivers who still made unbeliveable catches. Hats off to the KU receiving corps. I hope ours is there soon...

One thing that I was very happy to see from Hansen was his patience in the pocket and looking to throw first.

Last year and, from reports, during the spring and fall scrimmages, he would tuck the ball and run at the first sign of pressure. last night, he used his happy feet to create opportunities through the air. If it wasn't there, he'd pound the turf.

I have a lot of hope for great things from Tyler.

had some great individual effort last night from TH, Geer and Speedy. there were times they made plays on their own. and "stepping up and making plays" is something that has been sorely lacking on a consistent basis in this offense under Hawk.

sometimes it's got to be more than what's in the playbook.

I agree. Cody is probably the best backup QB any team could ask for. Thank you TH for stepping up, and thank you Cody for firing him up and helping keep him focused. Damn it, Cody is going to make a great QB coach one day.

I think the 'it is time Cody started on his coaching career' thing is spot on. He is a great backup QB to have in your hip pocket, and will be a great coach IMO. Just not starting material in the big leagues. Not a slam, how many people are starting material? I wish I had been back in the day, but I was not.

Or even a great coach period. Not like he has not lived an breathed coaching all his life. Sky is the limit for him I think in the coaching realms.

Hansen made some incredible plays. There were 5 or 6 plays that would have ended up in sacks or thrown away if he hadn't made something with his feet. Really brings a new dimension. How nice was it to see that deep pass to Simas land right in Simas's hands!

Yep. Gonna be an interesting second half. Sure seems like there are a lot of winnable games and also a lot of losable games.

wont argue about the losable ones, however, this is a different team now. This is startign to look like the Colorado team we thought we would see coming into the year. Still nothing for certain, but lets give this a shot with Hansen at QB, because he can do a lot than Cody couldn't. And the defense is playing better, especially against the run. The passing yardage was gonna come against Reesing.

TH is only going to get better, perfect game for him to get his first win...at home against a ranked team that we have struggled with, and now onto the road game.....CH even though he was not on the field played a big part in this win to, he was their on the sidelines picking TH up, talking to him "coaching" him.....GO BUFFS!!!!

The potential for this kid is definately through the roof....seeing him comfortable standing in the pocket and throwing the ball made me giddy last night...kid has the tools to make plays both on the ground & in the air & the potential with this offense is sky high now compared to a week ago.
