The three point "line" in college is 20'-9" and no less than 4'-3" from the sideline. The NBA is 23'-9" and 3'-0". I am getting sick of the influence the three has on the game. Good shooters are hitting over 50% from downtown on a regular basis. I believe the NCAA should move to the NBA distance. What say yea?

Also, what about the clock? Maybe moving to the 24 second clock would be overkill. But how about going to a 30 second clock? What would the impact be? Would it increase scoring? Make the game more exciting?

    Move it back.

    Shorten it.

The 3pt line is ridiculous. NBA players don't miss that shot in warmups as it's midrange at that level. I don't even care about other changes until they move that high school 3pt line back.

Don't see how having a longer shot clock would increase scoring. If you want to increase scoring then you would need to increase the number of possessions, a long shot clock isn't going to do that on a wide spread scale.

Both would be better solutions than the new officiating b.s.

I think we will like the new rules once teams learn to adjust.

It seems like they have backed off on the new rules in league play, I've seen some pretty physical games lately. Just my opinion though.

A few ideas DBT left out.

    Raise the rim to 12ft.
    Increase diameter of the ball.
Shorten the diameter of the rim.

I'm fine with the arc where it is. And I think if CU was a top half of the conference in 3 point shooting team more Buff fans would be too. The 3 point distance being where it is now stresses teams play good perimeter defense or get burned. And come tourney time the mid-major teams always have a guy with a stroke who keeps them in the game. Makes the college game fun to watch for me.

I think the NBA game flow sucks. Leave the college game alone, and go watch the nugs if you like that style.

If they move the 3pt line back to international or NBA distance, you'll never see another man defense in college basketball. That's my main concern.

I'm all for shortening the shot clock to 30.

So's the FIBA 3 pt. line. Would like the shot clock at 30 sec., with no re-set to a full 30 on offensive rebounds, just 20 secs. --recall the full 30 includes the 10 sec. to cross the mid-court line. Also, get rid of the ref "touch and hold" on every in-bound, a real time waster.

Did you see Creighton yesterday? 21 of 35 from downtown. 60%. That's 63 of 96 points on 35 shots. Two thirds of their scoring was on 3's. With the 9 points on FT's, only 25% of the scoring was from inside the arc. That isn't the way the game should be played IMO.

Oh, for sure. Guys who can shoot will still hit from NBA distance. But the Wes Gordon's of the world won't be popping 'em from the top of the arc. (No offense Wes!)

That game is an exception, and it goes both ways. Live by the 3 die by the 3.

And you want a guy like Wes Gordon to hit a 3 every now and then.
