Also strange is that they have both Hennington (79) and Norgard (78) rated ahead of Dillon (76). Good to see they think highly of Clay and Tyler though. Last year they didn't rank a single one of our recruits above a 78. They have Hennington as the #32 DT in the country, pretty impressive.

Very interesting. The various recruiting sites seem to have very different opinions on Dillon.

Probably depends on what they're basing it on. I don't think Dillon had his best performance at the LA Nike Camp. Further, he had a completion rate below 50% in 5 of his 12 games last season and also threw 14 INTs against his 19 TDs, so I believe that some scouts are questioning his accuracy.

But other scouts are seeing the prototypical measurables for a pro style offense and the potential for him to develop into an elite quarterback. That's certainly what our coaching staff sees, as they had him rated among the top 5 qb prospects in the nation this cycle.

Accuracy at the high school level can be scrutinized a bit much. A redshirt year bulking up and working on polishing the mechanics will do wonders for Dillon.

    ESPN's current top-25 recruting class rankings: http://insider.espn.go.com/college-football/recruiting/classrankings?classyear=2012&classmonth=6&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fcollege-football%2frecruiting%2fclassrankings%3fclassyear%3d2012%26classmonth%3d6

Biggest suprise on the list is Vanderbilt who already has three 4-star committs all from out of state. Maybe Franklin can pull of something similar there to what Harbaugh did at Stanford.

Also, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCU, and Oklahoma St. are all on there with recruting classes made up almost entirely with players from Texas. Im glad the new staff has made Texas recruting a priority, with all the talent down there it should pay dividends in years to come.
