Oh, and throughout the early evening Joe Shad from ESPN has been reporting on the ESPN TV that EB is the leading candidate with cabral still in the running. The man knows nothing.

@7:22 PM - Donmac on Rivals reiterates its gonna be EB.

@7:35 PM - Nomadik (widely discredited poster on Rivals) says Miles is still in it.

Adam at Rivals confirmed that Fedora inquired about the job. He did not say that we have any interest.

Guy was a very successful OC at Florida and Oklahoma State. 3rd season as HC at Southern Miss. Program was on the downswing when he took over and he's had 2 winning records followed by 8-4 this year. Guy's a good coach.

For the record, Dirk Koetter also inquired. We did not reciprocate interest. Don't know if interest is mutual with Fedora. I'd think he's worth interviewing.

And Nutt's people did reach out. CU had no interest.

Those are just the ones that have been reported. Supposedly there has been a lot of interest in the CU job.

Got it. I'm pretty familiar with Fedora's history. Just didn't know that there was ever any interest. Thanks fellas.
 
@9:30: Allbuffs and buffnation melts down because they think Bohn chose the wrong under credentialed former buff.

@9:45: Buffalo Chips radio refuses to call the Embree hire more than a rumor, but it sure seems like they are believing the Embo rumor.

@~10: Adam at rivals says he and other rivals can't confirm JE's hiring, but where there is smoke...

@11:27 pm: Ringo posts an article stating that EB will probably NOT be JE's OC.

@11:30: Ab Irato respected random internet poster on rivals says he doesn't believe the coach has been chosen yet. Candidates are now Mcelwain, EB, JE. Does not know more, but thinks AZ jumped the gun.

@11:57 PM: SD Buff, respected random internet poster, backs up Irato's statement that hte final decision has not yet been made.

@12:15 AM: LEft Hand, another respected random internet poster at rivals, backs up Irato and mentions that perhaps this was a trial balloon to test JE's candidacy. Especially tied with EB.

Morning update:

Ringo and DP both say coach ssearch is open, between MCelwain and the JE/EB combo.

AZ is sticking to his guns and says that EB is still coming as OC. However, EB has not yet been notified of what exactly is going on. Sounds like search committee sort of fooked up there.

The Rivals crowd, including respected random internet posters and Adam, continue to say it is still open. Suggest that this is all a huge trial balloon, or that Bohn offered the job, but is now getting tons of pressure to withdraw the offer and go with EB since supposedly EB isn't coming without JE.

One of ALlbuffs own random internet posters (NOT RESPECTED :lol:) suggests support for AZ's story from an independent source. If you want that scoop, pay up and go to barzil.

NB random internet posters also suggest JE is a done deal.

Thats it for now. will update as rumors come in. :lol:

@10:30 - Random internet poster on rivals with supposed personal contacts (not as good as allbuffs random internet poster's personal contacts) says that JE had not been offered the job as of last night.

Respected Rivals internet posters say it is done, and that people are pissed at Mac for taking over the process. Sounds lke a booster forced hire iyam.

@11:29, the exact same respected rivals internet poster that was just backed up by other respected rivals random internet p osters in saying the job was Embo's is now saying that EB has been offered the HC and Embo OC.

Also, radio is saying CJ (guy in the AD on the radio for 877 at noon) is disputing the henderson DP article quoting mac.

Bump: @11:48, Klatt on 877 also saying not done deal yet. So... we are at like our 8th leading rumor of the day. Wonder how many changes we have had in the last 24 hours. Someone count for me!

@12:00 on the radio CJ says the university will make a statement very soon and that NO contracts have been offered, but one will be very very soon. EB and Embo intensely considered for the job, but there is "someone else" out there.

@12:03 - 9news reports Embo coach, EB OC.

@12:05: Cj and Klatt are "giddy and good" and that it is "heating up, it is hot"

@12:06 - espn picks up DP story, but has a quote from Plati (CU Sports Information guy) which denies that the offer has been made.

Also, Random Respected internet poster at rivals says it is going to EB, Embo as OC.

@12:07 - CJ says decision imminent, within 48 hours, maybe sooner.

@ 12:20 CU Press Release (from mike bohn direct):
"The rumors that the University of Colorado has hired our next head football coach are untrue. In the interests of the young men in our program, and our fans and supporters, I want to make clear that the search committee has not yet completed its work, and we have not yet offered the job to any candidate. @12:24 Two things:
Klatt posits that the coach will be announced tomorrow. CJ defers. Also says hire will be in the family. CJ agrees.

Slightly respected random internet poster at AZ's site claims Embo to be announced as HC Friday. no word on EB.

@12:41 Several Random internet posters on various sites are stating that Embo is just working on finalizing the terms of the contract, As in unoffiical offer, unofficial acceptance, but nothing final yet.

@1:03 PM: Az confirms his earlier story and says that CU is simply in the dot the i's cross the t's stage. So, Embo HC, Embree OC.

At roughly the same time, multiple random internet posters at rivals start saying that it sounds like There has been offer to Embo, he just hasn't accepted, and the AD is denying things to keep from getting officially embarrassed in case it goes wrong.

@1:09 A semi respected random internet poster on AZ's site said he got a semi-confirmation from someone on the inside regarding Embree. a "no comment" type non-denial.

@ 1:30 - CJ & Klatt state that Mac was quoted out of context by douchebag extrordinaire Henderson in the story he broke earlier today.

@1:39 - Random internet poster of the respected variety confirms that JE received an offer from CU, but cannot confirm for what position the offer was or if he agreed.

@1:41 - Random internet poster of the respected variety immediately contradicts the report he just received at 1:39, and says that EB is to be HC. Then in the same post says another source just told him it will be JE. :wtf:

I’ll leave it to others more qualified than I to discuss the apparent racial tinges to the search process, but will continue to focus on the following: Colorado is willing to hand over the reins of a moribund football program on the precipice of a move to the Pac-10 to a coach that has been neither a head coach or a coordinator at any level.

on Embree has verbally accepted Colorado's offer to become its next head football coach, according to Bill McCartney, the legendary ex-Buffs' coach. Embree will hire former Buffs' great Eric Bieniemy as his offensive coordinator, McCartney said.
"Embree's going to be the head coach and Bieniemy's going to be the offensive coordinator," McCartney told The Denver Post today. "Take it to the bank and hang your hat on it."
A source close to the search also confirmed Thursday afternoon that Embree had accepted.
"It's a done deal," the source said, adding only that minor details need to be ironed out.
The source said CU is tentatively scheduling a Monday news conference to announce the hiring.

@6:30 PM: Random Internet poster with some credibility in Allbuffs Chatroom drops some scoop (gotta be a member to get in chat... :wink2:): Phil Anschutz is more in play than ever for CU now because of the conference switch. Didn't like us competing with KU. however, that is no guarantee that PA will donate big cash to the AD, but it is more info about why PA entered the discussion
