Buffaloes basketball heats up on Saturday as the Bears play the Buffaloes in the NCAA Tournament. It starts at 8:40 EST. Baylor is ranked #9 in the AP Top 25, and Colorado has a record of 1-0 against ranked competition. The Buffaloes currently sport a record of 24-11. Meanwhile, the Bears have a record of 28-7.
Sadly, Baylor is the favorite to win. According to the RPI, the Bears are the better team, ranked #9 and sitting above the Buffaloes at #50.
There is one category where Baylor has a statistical edge, scoring, where the Bears outperform the Buffaloes, 74 pts/game to 67 pts/game. Last season, the Buffaloes lost to the Bears 70-66. In four seasons, Colorado has a record of 2-3 against Baylor.StatSmack! Colorado is better than Baylor

    • Colorado has a much lower in-state cost per year according to Kiplinger than Baylor ($21,051 vs $39,453).
    • The top ranking player between the two conferences for rebounds, free throws made, and steals is in the Pac 12.
    • The Pac 12 had more close games in conference (so the games are more exciting to watch) than in the Big 12.
    • The Pac 12 has had 6 more NBA Draft picks than the Big 12 over the past 10 years.
