We now take you to Ames (and Iowa City), IA

With the increased prevalence of sports betting and its integration with leagues, arenas, broadcast partners, etc, the Iowa situation is only the beginning. The timing of this news makes a lot of sense considering Murphy v. National Collegiate Athletic Association opened the door for sports betting in 2018. The examples in this thread were at a prime age to be taken advantage of by a shifting landscape on sports betting. Add on that many young men already engaged with off-the-book bets within friend groups with the marketing strategies of the betting companies and it is easy to see why one could arrive at betting becoming a problem for certain players. The part that makes little sense to me is betting under a traceable account on your own team.
