ND, cheating? Shocker.
Anyone else see the thread title and hope it was something 50x more serious than this?
I left out the alleged sex scandal part.
I admit to getting a little excited when I saw the thread title. I can count on one finger (the middle one) the number of schools I would rather see go down in flames. This isn't a minor thing, though. This will hurt them, although probably not as much as we would all like to see.
At least nobody's girlfriend died-kinda this time.
We should have had Nik start a sympathy thread for her.
Players were trading sex with a tutor in return for written papers, allegedly
Trying to process this. What was the tutor getting from this? Just the D?
At least there's no cleat chasers in college or this might have gotten out of control.
Was it a male tutor?
Please, please god let this be the truth.
Of course it was a dude.
It is apparently more that a rumor now.
Do these things even matter anymore? I thought PSU was done but here we are just a short time after the HUGE scandal and they are once again a pretty decent B1G team recruiting in the top 10.
Just how vacant of self-esteem does one need to be to say, "do me and then I'll writ your term paper for you." Pitiful.
Considering Notre Dame has struggled with big boy football and the academic side of the university (remember Urban Meyer spurning them) and now four prominent starters in two years have been linked to an academic scandal, it matters in this case. Brian Kelly might already looking for an exit strategy.
3 of the players are starters
Butch Jones to ND? He seems to follow BK everywhere he goes.
Gives a whole new meaning to "golden dome".
Crying a river, personally
Not sure how you you think this isn't serious unless you're an ND fan. It involves 4 players who were all expected to significantly contribute including their top receiver, their top DB, and a starting defensive end.
I hear ya.
tough break for the kids....
Those naughty little leprechauns!
Is there any more meaningless sanction than "vacating wins?" Thousands of fans who were excited about leaving the stadium the day of the game are now going to be depressed because the win doesn't count in the official records?
This is Notre Dame, one of the big name, big money programs in the sport. If there is a way that the NCAA can let them off with a slap on the hand they will.
Separate names with a comma.
