NEW ORLEANS — University of Colorado cross country coach Mark Wetmore has been named the USTFCCCA Mountain Region Women’s Coach of the Year.

This is Wetmore’s sixth time receiving the honor for coaching the Buffalo women and is his 16th overall honor as he has been the region men’s coach 10 times. Wetmore coached CU to its first regional championship since 2009 last Friday and the women won handily as they recorded 29 points to defeat the runner-up, New Mexico, by 35 points. The Buffs placed their top four harriers in the top six and had all seven runners finish in the top 15 to earn All-Mountain Region honors. CU automatically qualified for its 21[SUP]st[/SUP] NCAA Championship appearance in the last 22 year with the win.
