I'm just curious what everyone thinks -- and this is specifically for basketball. I'll openly admit I don't pay for either Scout or Rivals, so I'm going purely off of free content, but I like both ESPN & Rivals. Rivals has the most info available (measurables, offers, etc.) but I enjoy ESPN's scouting reports.

And I almost put Buffnik as an option on the poll, but realized he'd get all the votes and I wouldn't get an answer to my question.

Add allbuffs. It's the only one I use.

If we are talking basketball only, then I would add an option for you Goose. You really have been doing a great job. Lots of good information about CU hoops.

    They all have their flaws.

I wish that one of the services would be as good nationally as Cali High is for the state of California. They do a tremendous job of hoops coverage.

I probably use them all equally. Finding out who CU has offered, who we might be interested in, and what the latest info may be, requires more digging in hoops. ESPN, when its current and has scouted the prospect recently, definitely provides the most in-depth analysis of the prospect.

for bball scout. This is really based on loyalty, as I haven't had a subscription in years. But I still think Scout does a good job.

Honestly though, I find the best news by google searching prospects' names, and college message boards. Big bball schools have some great information in their boards - some of their posters have some legit inside info. Unfortunately, we don't cross paths with the big time schools too often for prospects, but when we do, you can find some great info on their sites. It's similar to the football recruiting site here - we have some great info and analysis. Now once CU's bball steps up, I'm sure more people will visit these boards, contribute info, share info, etc. (mods - please don't take this as knock against all the work you do - all of us, me of course included, greatly appreciate the great info we have here already)

I like Rivals for football, so that's kinda carried over to b-ball. I don't subscribe to any of them so my visits are mostly to check out ratings/rankings, the individual's interest in CU, and who has offered schollies. I find better links to evals and discussions for b-ball recruits on AB. You guys rock.

The reason I didn't put AllBuffs down is because I was thinking about signing up for one of the services. I used to subscribe to Rivals, and liked Adam's work with CU stuff, but there was very little basketball coverage. Now that CU is starting to get in on these guys, I'm trying to figure out which route I should go.

Oh, I thought it was information gathering, so I didn't want to click other to skew info.

Sorry I can't help ya Goose. I really couldn't tell you which one is better, or how they stack up against each other.

I'm more apt to listen to what you and 'Nik and DMD have to say, rather than one of the services.

I subscribe to Rivals, but it is mostly a football place with relatively sparse coverage of basketball. I tried Scout and it is about the same, so I dropped it. For me, football is OK, but it is really just a filler until College Hoops. I actually think that All Buffs is by far the best site for information about college BB. Thanks to Buffnik for great work in making the site happen. Also, I appreciate the insight of many people who contribute their thoughts, especially "Goose" and "dyemeduke". You guys really know your stuff and I enjoy reading what you have to say. Thanks for doing this. I did "subscribe" to you also :)

    Rep whore.

    Thanks for the kudos.

Credit to Vamos for a lot of the work he did to make hoops coverage a significant part of AllBuffs and also to Scotch (who does an allsome job but has been sort of MIA this offseason since he decided to take a break from having a home computer).

Seemed like the right time to switch. While I love the bandit, I wasn't sure if it was really me. I'm far more comfortable as your personal savior.

PS: I finally gave in and voted "other" which is outpacing the other sites, but I want everyone to know I actually mean "allbuffs".

Thanks, but I really don't do anything except say a few things every now and then...occasionally get drunk and post something stupid...then lurk for some periods of time.

Seriously though - it's great that bball has gotten more coverage. I loved reading Scotch, Valdez, Coereg, and others would write, but it's definitely more fun with more people. AND GIVE IT UP TO GOOSE! Great info man.
