Over our first 7 games, Alex has 568 yards on 114 attempts.

That puts him on pace for 973 yards if he averages the same over the last 5 games.

Notably, in conference play Fontenot has 359 yards on 72 attempts.

If he continues his conference averages, he'll finish with 1,017 yards for the season.

The next three defenses might make getting to 1000 yards doable for Fontenot. I don't think trying to get to 1000 yards against Utah is feasible.

I hope so, but if I’m an opposing defense, I start to crowd the line. Montez is garbage right now. Ordinarily, a strong running game will compliment and help the passing game. When your QB can’t throw it in the ocean, the running game suffers.

I think he will come close, but think Mangham will take more carries in later half of season. I like how both run, but wish they would pick up thier feet more. Seems like Lindsay had same problem as a freshman.

Wish we had a better outside rushing scheme with stretch runs, and maybe a mini-option type of play! JJ likes the Pistol with the back hidden behind QB to hide his Inside run game, but Fontenot is better outside. Montez’s ball handling, play fakes still suck. Wish we would run Montez more to keep that in the opponents mind!

It would be nice. Actually what would be nice is more of Fontenot/Mangham and less Montez.
