Picking Up Steam in Oregon
The Buffs find themselves back in the top 25 after securing two huge wins in Oregon. They have an excellent record of 8-4 on the road and have positioned themselves to make a big run in March. The Buffs have knocked off multiple top-tier teams this season and will have more chances down the stretch. This past weekend, they stunned Oregon on the road, and it was the team’s first win in Eugene since 2014. Oregon got the first bucket but Colorado took control from there. The Buffs pitched a shutout from beyond the arc, holding the best three-point team in the Pac to a stunning 0-for-16 from three all game. After a 10-1 run to start the fourth, the Buffs cruised to a 63-53 victory.

The Buffs faced off against Oregon State this past Sunday as well. Led by a locked-in Frida Formann, they jumped out to an early 16-2 lead just five minutes into the first. Formann drained eight points before the Beavers could even gather their footing. Jaylyn Sherrod also showed up ready to ball as she snatched five steals and dropped four assists in the first quarter alone. The Buffs set the tone early with sheer dominance and held on to their lead in an impressive route of Oregon State on the road. Oregon State could not get within 14 points the rest of the game, with the lead stretching to as much as 22. In the end, the Buffs hung on by a considerable margin of 67-48. A margin of 19 points tied the record for the Buffs' largest win on the road since joining the Pac-12.

Leaders of The Stampede:

@ Oregon (2/3)

Aaronette Vonleh- 22 Points | 10-for-15 shooting | 8 Rebounds
Frida Formann- 13 Points | 5-for-12 shooting | 3-for-6 3PT

@ Oregon State (2/5)
Quay Miller- 19 Rebounds | 15 Points | 6-for-21 shooting
Jaylyn Sherrod- 15 Points | 5-for-10 shooting | 7 Assists | 7 Steals
Frida Formann- 13 Points | 4-for-9 shooting | 7 Rebounds | Key to Buffs’ hot start

Gameday Preview: Home Cookin'
Tonight Washington State will travel to Boulder to match up with a red-hot Buffs team. The Buffs are 9-3 in conference play and have dropped one game at home all season. The Buffs lost a tough game to USC in Boulder, coming off of an overtime thriller against then #14 UCLA. Outside of one difficult loss, the Buffs have taken care of business at the Events Center. The Cougars are in the middle of a six-game road win streak themselves and will look to spoil CU’s home-cookin’. Not far removed from wins on the road at Arizona and Arizona State, the Cougars are not a team the Buffs can take lightly. They will need to continue their emphasis on lockdown defense and team energy if they hope to stop the Cougars dead in their tracks.

Game Date: Tonight - Friday, February 10th
Game Time: 7:00 PM Mountain Time
