GRANADA, Spain—Junior Adam Zika, captain of the men’s alpine team at the University of Colorado, became the first men’s skier in CU history to win a medal, earning the silver medal for the Overall Competition at the 27th World University Games, wrapping up a successful completion for the Buffs.
Zika accumulated the second most points of all men’s alpine skiers across four races throughout the games. He is the second Buff to win a medal at the games joining Thea Grosvold, who won a Gold Medal in the slalom on Friday.
On top of becoming the first men’s skier in CU history to medal, Zika is just the fifth overall to do so and sixth overall medal, including the second silver medal.
