Sorry mods...but I'm not so much computer illiterate, but just lazy... I don't know how to put together the proper format for recruit profiles, but I give you a long shot. Jabari Bird has a top three of Arizona, Washington and Cal. We are a new offer.

He is a high-elite prospect. It'd be amazing if we somehow land Thomas AND Bird...but that's a fantasy...I don't expect either, although I remain hopeful on Thomas. Here's his scout profile:

and Rivals doesn't show an offer from us, but they're wrong...

New Scout rankings have him as the #15 player in the 2013 class.

We're now in Bird's top 4 with AZ, Cal and Udub. That Pac-12 championship caught his attention.

As much as Boyle loves wings (he'll play 3 at once), I can absolutely see a lineup where he'd put Bird on the court at the same time as Dakari Allen (my other 2013 hope) and Xavier Johnson.

They're all in the 6'5"-6'6" range, but do different things. Bird would be most like a "2" and Johnson plays more like a big "3", while Allen would be more of a point forward/defensive stopper who would likely defend the other teams best scorer.

Wow, I thought CU was out of the Bird race a long time ago. Would be absolutely amazing if CU somehow nabbed Bird and/or Hamilton.

It's pretty encouraging that Bird's had the same top 3 for the last 6 months and we've pushed our way in. He obviously wants to stay out west, and I'd put the program up against anyone in the Pac-12 right now. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Assuming Roberson leaves after next year, I'd love to see Tad run this lineup out in 2013:

Mayor
Bird
XJ
Smotrycz
Scott

No one in that lineup is under 6'5", and you've got depth with Booker, Gordon, Jenkins, etc. That's a top-25 team right there, and one that could make a deep tourney run. The fact it's even remotely possible is really a testament to how far this program has come!

Do we still have scholarship though? lol

Not right now. But with a transfer expected, there would be room for Smotrycz. And all it takes is one transfer/early entry/Damien Cain to free up that other scholarship. I'm pretty sure that'll happen.

Another nice job by YngC.

Bird kicked some ass at the Nike EYBL Session #1 Tournament.
This group was head and shoulders above their fellow players.... Jabari Bird is an example of what’s wrong with AAU. The kid is so talented but actually seems to enjoy playing within an offense and letting the game come to him. There’s not much room for that in these events so he has to go one on one to get much of his offense. While he can do this, he’s so much more effective when the defense moves and his mid range game is a thing of beauty.

If that quote doesn't scream BOYLE RECRUIT to you, well, then, do less crack.
