Adam reporting on Twitter that we are going hard after an LB from TX:
College Station (Texas) A&M Consolidated's Jimmie Gilbert is one of the LBs the #CUBuffs are heavily recruiting: http://t.co/e6o9yiof #Buffs"

I can't find a profile on him at AB.

We'll work on it.

Article from this morning was interesting. http://colorado.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1381974

Looks like a heck of an athlete who has some offers in basketball. Dad played hoops at aTm and he has an older sister playing hoops for them. Jimmie will play football in college and would fit our Jack linebacker spot (the Kanavis McGhee role of a DE that can drop into coverage or rush the passer).

I'll turn the OP into a profile, boyd. Thanks.

Thanks. By the way just found his junior highlight film. He was playing DE in High School but was all over the field. The dude not only stops the run and goes after the QB but seems to have knack for being around the ball, makes INT and fumble recoveries and makes his way into the endzone. Not sure the quality of talent he is playing against but I like what I see!

Interesting prospect. Not too many highlights in that tape, but shows flashes of great ability. Looks bigger than 205. I'd like to know why Texas schools like at least like SMU, Texas State or Baylor haven't offered.

It will be interesting to watch Texas A&M Consolidated play The Woodlands (Huckins & Kronshage) on Thur 4th October 2012, 7PM at Woodforest Stadium. Texas A&M Consolidated recently joined District 14-5A following district realignment after last season. They had a 5-6 2011 season and are rated by MaxPreps as #76 in Texas 5A compared to The Woodlands with a 12-2 2011 season ranked #10 in Texas 5A. Texas A&M Consolidated lost in the first round playoffs against DeSoto, 54-10. DeSoto (2nd round) and The Woodlands (4th round) both lost to Dallas Skyline in the playoffs.

247s claims Oklahoma as the only offer, but the other 3 sites say CU, UNM, Tulsa.

Gilbert's one of the guys I really want. I hope Boomer isn't on him.

Adam reporting he currently favors the Buffs:

#CUBuffs have been recruiting Texas OLB Jimmie Gilbert hard since the spring, and he is currently favoring the #Buffs: http://t.co/x5QJqRMP

Surprising he doesn't have more offers given he's got one from Oklahoma. But who cares he's got plenty of talent and we definitely need some new speedster LBs in this class. He fits the bill.

One of the big keys for the 2013 class is finding disruptive pass rushers, whether DEs or OLBs. In the Pac-12 with the offenses we'll face, a team absolutely must be able to bring heat from the edge and also be able to pursue the edge running games we'll see from Oregon and Arizona.

With Kisima/McCartney we will take one more?

2 things I don't believe. No way he runs a 4.58 40 and he doesn't have an Oklahoma offer.

Watched his HUDL film and it doesn't WOW me. Being able to scoop and score an easy TD is less impressive to me than seeing a rush end constantly blow by OT's to make the play (which I didn't see). I see some potential, but that's it. With little room left in our recruiting class, I'd pass on Gilbert and hope we can get in on some elite players during or after the season.

Similar to Uzo-Diribe, we're looking at an athlete who is developing as a football player. Gilbert was a basketball guy (dad played hoops for aTm). I also question the Oklahoma offer - 247s is the only site reporting that. This is a prime example of the coaches finding guys who have the frame, work ethic and athletic ability to turn into something special with great coaching. And our coaches believe they can make that happen.

As far as elite options, Quan may be the only one we have a shot at. He should be coming on his own dime for the CSU game. No matter who else may commit, we take him if he wants to be a Buff. But we can't wait for him, imo.

I gotcha. I'm all for the project players. This class just appears to be 90% project players, which seems a bit overboard to me. I really liked what this staff did with the last class, but this class doesn't have the same feel at all. I'm glad they trust their scouting abilities, but they're scaring the crap out of me.

Good comparison to CUD.
