Volleyball Season Ticket

I called earlier this month to buy a volleyball season ticket. This is the best way of getting priority points when you live in Iowa there is! Imagine my surprise when I can't get my old seat because most of the section is sold out! I took the closest ticket they could give me and told them if we ever play Nebraska again, to keep the Fuskers out of my seat!

So all of the fans who bought the tickets, please go support the team. I will be seeing many of the matches online and on tv.

We've been going to volleyball matches for years but have also decided to go the season ticket route rather than buying individual game tix. I think I read that, at least for the renewals, the tickets will be mailed out starting August 1.... but they don't even have the non-conference portion of the schedule posted yet so I wonder how that will happen?

It turns out that CU was scheduled to play in two away tournaments this season. The pac-12 website listed Wisconsin-Green Bay (Sept. 13-14) and Baylor (Sept 6-7) in their composite schedule for the tournament sites. I kept an eye out for the press releases. Baylor released their non-conference schedule early and there was no Colorado. A few weeks pass and a second release listed Colorado joining their tournament on Sept 13. A week later UWGB has a press release saying CU is coming for a tournament the same weekend!!!

I don't know who screwed up the lines of communication, but it this is an epic fail for all involved. CU is supposedly hosting two more tournaments, but the only opponent that I could find coming to Boulder is St. Mary's, opening weekend.

I hate to say it, but I am wondering if Kritza can handle the rigors of a Pac-12 volleyball program. Did she get too distr acted by her bring sand volleyball to CU campaign? All the big schools in volleyball have had their schedules posted for a couple of months now. Don't expect any big names coming to Boulder to play in the non conference portion of the schedule. I have a feeling Kritza is dodging any real competition. I remember reading a tweet that the CSU volleyball coach said CU was on their 2013 schedule early this year. When they announced their schedule, Colorado was a no show.

I have a pair of tickets and am hoping to make it to a few matches this year. For those of you that have never been, it is actually pretty fun. The girls are very athletic and there is a ton of action.

I'm glad that people who bought the season tickets are going to use them. I most likely won't be (at least this year). I do have my Pac 12 Networks back, which I will keep through basketball season.

I am very surprised if CSU is not on CU's schedule. They should be. CSU is always a quality program. CU needs quality opponents before it starts Pac 12 play as there are so many good teams in the Pac 12.

CSU has released their schedule and CU is not on it. Since CU has not released anything for the non-conference portion of their VB schedule yet I did some poking around in other schools released schedules to see what I could find. What I found was a mess .... CU was, according to the Northern Iowa schedule, playing in a tourney at Wisc Green Bay the same weekend that CU is playing at a tourney in Waco, according to Baylor's schedule. I think CU has now disappeared from the WGB schedule. And according to the info on the "Renew VB season tickets" page, CU is hosting 2 home tourneys but the only team I could find that says they are playing in Boulder is St Marys. Basically someone in CU VB messed up on the scheduling and they probably don't have it sorted out yet..... even tho that same page said season tickets would be sent out Aug 1. It will be interesting to see what matches CU ends up with in the non-conference portion of the schedule. I hope they manage to get at least close to a full complement of matches in.

how the hell do you buy them online?

I asked that question and was told to call the ticket office to buy new VB season tickets. I did that and it appears to have worked... I say "appears" since I got an e-mail confirming the purchase and the points have appeared in my account but I don't have tickets in hand yet.

Did you just plagiarize MObuff?

Looks like I did duplicate some of MOBuffs info when I was responding to Buffgal. Coulda saved myself some typing! Would you like me to delete those parts and just leave the new info?

10! let's go stare at some booty shorts. I have the seats on will call.

Same! J/k I'm seat 3. I can go to most the games. For sure down. I'm having them delivered to me so I don't forget about them haha.

I have Section 9 Row 9 also. Don't remember the seat. It will be vacant. Do not let any Fusker fans sit in it. Oh, we don't play them any more. So, don't let any opponents sit in it. Any All Buffs member is welcome to sit in it.

The latest I have been able to unearth about the VB schedule is this: Opening weekend St Mary's (a top 30 team last season) will play CU TWICE in Boulder. Instead of having an actual round robin tourney like these weekends usually are. I guess they couldn't get another 1 or 2 teams to come to Boulder. At least they will have these 2 matches against good competition. Sept 6-7 weekend, CU plays in a 4 team tourney at Syracuse, playing Syracuse, Rutgers, Oakland, and Stony Brook. Uninspiring competition (rated in the 100's and 200's last season) but at least they managed to find a tourney to fill in for the initial snafu. Then the Sept 13-14 weekend at Baylor. Baylor at least was in the 50-100 range last season (as was CU) so that's a decent match. The other teams not so much. There is supposed to be a final home tourney for the weekend of Sept 20-21 but I have not been able to find any teams saying they are coming to Boulder those days. What has been posted on the cu web site has been "TBA" for the non-conference portion of the schedule followed by the PAC schedule. Today the web site was changed .... they just deleted the non-conference section!! Whoever is responsible for VB scheduling has really messed up. In fact, I think 3 of the 4 seasons starting with 2010 have been messed up with only last season having what I consider to be a normal non-conference schedule. They need to get someone competent to do VB scheduling!

Is volleyball like basketball where it falls upon the coaching staff to do scheduling?

Sucks about the scheduling SNAFUs but on another note, I hope most of the AllBuffs crew gets season tickets or at least attends a decent amount of games. VB is one of the best spectator sports out there, especially women's, and the Buff's are at a critical point in growing the program. Also, it's one of the only sports you your girlfriend/wife/date/mistress will enjoy as much as you!

Agree with Timmy. It would be great if we could get more fans in the seats on a regular basis. Buy your season tickets and get the 5 points but then use the tickets to support our team. As Timmy says the team is at a critical point this season ... gaining talent with the return from injury of RSSr Kerra Schroeder and the arrival of top transfer Jr Taylor Simpson and last seasons talented freshmen having gained experience. But they now need better results on the court to improve for the future. Any of you who went to the Basketball Madness event last fall may remember that there was a VB match against ASU preceding the basketball event. The Buffs ended up winning the VB match in 5 games, coming back to get the victory. I have to think that the swelling crowd of supporters for our VB team contributed to that victory.

That ASU game was fun last year. More exciting than any football game I went to last year.
