Reported Offers: COLORADO, Central Arkansas, Troy

Rubio Long Snapping

5* prospect
#2 LS in 2014 Class

Wyatt is just flat out great! He is built, easily, like a D1 Long Snapper. He snaps like one, he runs like one and he looks like one. He is ready now. Snaps a nice, smooth ball with some great strength behind it. Very impressive to watch him snap the ball. Great attitude and continuously working to get better. Tell him to do something and just consider it done. Great attitude.

New Rivals article:

Smith will still have three years to play two, so four-year schools are starting to come calling. Troy has offered him a scholarship, while Colorado, Arizona State and Florida are also showing interest.

"I took an official visit to Troy on Oct. 5 and I have my official visit to Colorado set up for Nov. 22-24," he said. "Troy was great. They have a great group of coaches and a great group of guys on the team. It definitely wouldn't be a bad place at all to play football. But there are definitely some other things that interest me equally, if not more, than Troy."

Colorado is one of those "other things" that interests him. The Buffs are in the market for a long snapper because their current starter Ryan Iverson is a senior.

Ah. Long snapper. I thought he was a left safety.

Come to Colorado young man!

It looks like we're going down Rubio's list. MacIntyre's gonna be pissed if Florida offers late and he goes there. Oregon stole Carew from us albeit much earlier in the process

Wyatt is an important recruit for us. I know it's hard for folks to get excited about a Long Snapper, but we are losing a 4-year starter to graduation in Iverson. He's been a great player for us. And when I look at the 2014 team, two spots where I'm confident that we have an advantage nearly every week is with our specialists. We can't compromise what should be great senior seasons from Oliver and O'Neill by having a poor LS. Get this done, coaches. We need Wyatt in Boulder.

If O'Neill has a good senior season he should have a lot of NFL teams looking at him. Wouldn't hurt to be the LS for a guy with a good shot at getting signed into the league, gets you seen and potentially remembered.

Concur. The only way he is a bigger target is if his last name is Earp.

Solid addition. We've been spoiled (is that possible?) by pretty good long snappers over the last decade. #2 overall LS.

Not a flashy position, but definitely a position of need and a great get. Welcome aboard, young fella.

Woot! Welcome to the black and gold!!!

Losing coaches talk about little things, winning coaches take care of details.

If it cost you games it isn't a little thing, it's a detail. Long snapping is one of those details that can lose you games.

Love that M2 is taking care of details and doing it ther right way.

Welcome to the Buffs Mr. Smith, glad to have you on board.

I've mentioned this before, but I want to re-iterate.

Next season, the one place CU will have an advantage in most games is the kicking game. We'll have a senior punter and a senior kicker. Bringing in a highly-ranked long snapper who has proved it on the JUCO level gives a lot of confidence (and removes a lot of risk) that we won't lose this advantage to Ryan Iverson's graduation.
