Other than Dom don't know how many of these kids will every play past high school but a great experience for the kids playing in the Keg. Looks like a decent crowd on TV as well.

First game is Denver South vs. Peublo East. South down 13-4 early, look like the nerves are getting to them. They are trying to play at 500 mph and turning the ball over to often.

Both teams have settled down, this is a good game. Denver South much more talented but Pueblo East is much more disciplined

UNC is getting a kid who is going to turn into a dominant player in the Big Sky conference. Also DS has a little guard name Purafoy (sp.) who is very quick and has dropped a couple of shots from NBA 3 land.

Pueblo East ends up winning the game. Probably wouldn't have changed the outcome but the game ended with some lousy officiating worthy of PAC officials. Pueblo East was up by three with about a minute left in the game. Denver South was trying to foul and put them on the line but the officials ignored multiple fouls.

A Denver South player then fouled exactly as you would coach it, making solid contact but clearly going after the basketball. The official hesitated for a moment before blowing the whistle then called it an intentional foul giving PE shots and the ball. Then in their confusion the refs waved of two separate fould shots (that missed) by the PE player before letting him finally complete his shots (made) and take the ball in from out of bounds. They then had a couple more questionable calls or non-calls before the end of the game.

Again in the end probably didn't change the outcome of the game but shouldn't these guys be the best available considering what is on the line.

Fossil Ridge up early 6-2. They have a bunch of kids in the 6'4"-6'6" range who are pretty solidly built for HS kids, also play like a well coached team as you would expect for a team that is undefeated so far on the season.

Dom had a nice drive that ended with the basket waved off due to a questionable charge call.

Have they mentioned that Collier is going to CU yet? They mentioned Harrel to Creighton like 10 times but nothing about Collier playing on the same court next year.

Wouldn't make any sense to mention a kids college choice who is going to a program that is going to the dance again, and a kid who picked CU over offers from multiple national level programs.

Did we go after Harrell?

I don't think so. He was much, much shorter earlier in his high school career. Creighton got an offer out to him before his senior year and he visited in September, when we already had Dom and were closing in on Miller. I haven't followed his senior year but on Maxpreps it shows him averaging about 16 and 8 which is nice. Not sure his fit on the CU team as a skinny 6'8" tweener forward but we got our guys and he's locked up with another good program so I wouldn't consider him one that got away.

Looks like Collier doesn't really have much chance to touch the ball. Not sure if it's by designed or what

Ok thanks I did not know.

Is Dom playing 3rd guard in this offense? Kinda weird, he's just floating around the perimeter a lot.

Ok thanks I did not know.

He's been huge in this game. That drive to the rack with about 1.5 minutes left developed so quickly the defense didn't know what hit them. He reminds me of George King though with his frame, probably two inches taller though. Can't play inside like that at the next level, certainly not in the Pac-12, so I'll be interested to follow his career in the Big East and see if he transitions to more of an outside slasher game or is able to bulk up at all.

As athletic as he and Dom are in high school, the word wiry comes to mind. I hope Dom can get on a strength program as soon as possible this summer so he can take the physicality of next year's conference games.

Looks like Fossil Ridge is trying to make the other players beat them. So far the other players are.

Why the hell am I hearing the completely stupid overrated chant with 6 minutes left in the third quarter of the 5A championship during a 4 point game?

The biggest question is, directed at whom? The undefeated team for trailing, or Big Bad East for only being ahead 7 at this point? Not a fan of the chant regardless, but very weird timing.

Okay, then, there's that range from Harrell. If this recruiting cycle had been like 2012 in which we had 5 scholarships to give and later a 6th, I can see Tad getting Dom, Harrell, and Jeremiah Paige. Shame there weren't more schollys available. Nothing against a couple of scholarship players currently providing depth on the team, but all playing time equal I'd prefer the in-state recruit.

Because dumb HS kids imitate dumb college kids.

Fossil Ridge is ranked #1 in the state which is logical considering that they are undefeated this season and ranked by MaxPreps as the #37 team in the country.

They have some size, good shooters, and are well coached. Unfortunately for them tonight they are playing a team with some upper D1 players and just can't keep up.

If East loses this game tonight it will be be because of what East doesn't do.

That 3rd quarter was all about Dom. Fossil Ridge is overplaying him to try to keep the ball out of his hands, but Dom is so in control and just taking what he wants.

I'm a little disappointed we didn't get to see Dom/Perkins battles this year. Hopefully we can draw the Zags in the tournament one of the next four (or three or two) years.

Back to the overrated chant. Crowd shot showed it coming from the FR crowd, they are down by 17 with less than 5 minutes left. Duh!!! You don't make sense.

Drew Goodman is fairly clueless.

Finally giving CU some props for recruiting the best HS players in the state in recent years with Dom, Josh, Wes,XT. Mentioning the increased number of D1 level players with guys going to Creighton, Wyo, CSU but forgot entirely about Perkins who was widely considered the #2 guy in the state this year.
