#8 Colorado Buffaloes v #9 Pitt Panthers - Round of 64 - Orlando, FL - GAME THREAD

It's good to have an assistant on staff with Sean Kearney who is so familiar with what Jamie Dixon likes to do with his Pitt systems. All those years at Notre Dame should serve us well in game planning.

So tifwiw (tini) but Pitt fans on rivals are already counting on a "comfortable" win.

I really don't have any issues with this. Pitt is beatable, it's not like they're some misplaced 6 seed. Not sure where this perception is coming from. Pitt had a decent ACC tournament, that's the only impressive thing they've done all year.

I hope the players for Pitt think it will be an easy win. Love being the underdog (even though we're the higher seed??).

It's not the Pitt matchup that bothers me, it's going to Orlando with little chance of an upset against 1-seeded Florida. And yes I was holding out hope for Raleigh, dammit. If you asked me what our worst possible scenario could be a few hours ago, I would've said being an 8/9 seed in Orlando with a potential 2nd-round matchup with Florida.

Pitt's best player is a 6'5 SF who averages 17ppg at 39% 3pt. After that is a 6'9 PF at 230lbs. It looks like their scoring on their roster is balanced. Lots of players in the 8ppg range

Tough draw, and if we win we get the #1. I think we're good enough to beat Pitt, unless they're allowed to beat us up.

Hate this draw. First Congratulations to head coach Tad Boyle and our Boys for making the Big Dance. I hate our draw at an 8th seed when you consider Oregon got a #7 seed in the West. How in the hell does Oregon get a better seed than us and get placed in the west? They finished behind us. They only won one Pac 12 tourney game. And last and most important, we beat them head to head.

We get a Florida after we beat Pitt. That is a bad draw. I don't care if the selection committee thinks we are a different team without Spencer Dinwiddie. To place Oregon over us is a travesty.

ESPN has us "overseeded" by three (we should be an 11, per BPI)

Hey guys, congrats on the NCAA tournament bid. Tough potential matchup with Florida after Pitt. Who knows though? Crazy things can happen. Just stopping by to wish you guys good luck. Once the tournament starts, I root for all PAC teams (except for ASU). Shock the world!!

Good luck to you guys. Okie Lite in the 2nd round could be tougher than who you'd see in the Sweet 16. No favors for UofA in the seeding.

Okst. is a tough second round matchup. It will probably be a game closer than I like. But I believe if we can get past them, the sky is the limit. We will go as far as our offensive execution allows.

This is the PhillyBuff family match up. Brother went to Pitt.

Florida is really, really good but this is not like the last two years where Kentucky and Louisville were head and shoulders above everyone else....CU can compete with Florida

Looks like the key matchups in this game are XJ vs Lamar Patterson and Josh vs Talib Zanna. If we get great defense from those spots, it's going to be very hard for Pitt to score enough to win.

FWIW - CU will not be favored in this game, likely a 5/6 point underdog with a 30ish % chance to win. Vegas likes Pitt a lot, 15-20 team in vegas power rankings.

I plan on doing a game preview this week, will try to drop it on Tuesday.

KenPom gives us a 28% chance to win.
