Thursday:
Colorado got destroyed by Pitt.
Oregon pulled away from BYU for the blow out. Will face Wisconsin next.
Arizona State lost a heartbreaker to Texas.

Friday:
10 Stanford vs 7 New Mexico. 11:40 am, TBS.
1 Arizona vs 16 Weber State. 12:10 pm, TNT.
4 UCLA vs 13 Tulsa. 7:57 pm, truTV.

NIT

Tuesday:
Utah turned a 7 point halftime lead against St. Mary's into a 58-70 loss. Very surprising.

Wednesday:
Cal beat Utah Valley by 13. As expected. Cal could be dangerous in this.

CBI

Wednesday: Oregon State couldn't come back from a 12 pt halftime deficit at home vs Radford in the Craig Robinson Invitational. (Yes, I'm renaming it the "CRI" tournament.) Shameful for this year's Beav team to finish 16-16 and go out like that.

That's all she wrote for the Pac-12 in the CRI.

Pac fans showing up in force. Cal with 1,800 tonight, Oregon St with 1,300

Was OSU devastated to miss the nit? You can't lose to Radford on your home court and give up 96.

1300......

edit - just noticed that was 33 mins before the game, so probably not completely fair

Just to give the other half representation in this thread:

PAC-12 WBB in the postseason:

NCAA

9 Oregon State vs 8 Middle Tennessee
2 Stanford vs 15 South Dakota
9 Arizona State vs 8 Vanderbilt
7 California vs10 Fordham
9 Southern California vs 8 St John's(NY)

WNIT

Wednesday:
Colorado defeated TCU 78-71
Washington State lost to Montana, at Montana, 90-78
Thursday:
Oregon vs Pacific
Friday:
Washington vs Hawaii
Note that since WNIT brackets based on geography rather than seeding the teams, all 4 PAC teams are in the same quarter of the bracket.

Thanks, BeBe. I should have also researched that for the OP.

Am I crazy to think that CU is the type of team that could win the WNIT? Arielle looks like she's finally feeling healthy. Last night was the quickest I have seen her. Our seniors (Wilson sisters and Hargis) are playing like they don't want it to end. And the young bigs (Swan & Beard-Fails) seem to be coming into their own.

Is there any chance that Jen Reese makes it back or is she shut down for the year?

It sounds like there is an outside chance that Jen could make it back if the Buffs have a long run in the WNIT. But I expect the coaches to be cautious about that possibility so I would be surprised if we see her again this season even if they make it all the way to the finals.

Is CU the type of team that could win this years WNIT ? Sure.
The time off has helped them heal up and get some rest for the upperclass players and some focused practices have helped the frosh and sophs improve. This gives the Buffs solid starters and a good bench. Last night CU outscored TCU something like 36-3 in bench points. A good bench helps a lot as more games are played, especially if we play more games at altitude.
If they play the way they can and can put together full 40 minute games, they could win it all. But they better improve on breaking the press pretty quick because the success TCU had with it last night pretty much guarantees that any team with quick athletic guards will be using that a lot against the Buffs.

Pac-12 went 1-2 today in the NCAAs with the Buffs getting abused, ASU losing at the buzzer and Oregon whipping BYU.

For the WNIT, Buffs found out they'll be playing Southern Utah at home Saturday at 7pm. SUU handled CSU today.

Thursday results from WNIT : as posted by Nik , SUU took care of the Rams at Moby so SUU is CU's next opponent.

Other games involving PAC 12 :
Oregon handily beat Pacific 90-63. Their next opponent is still TBD ... they play the winner of the UDub vs Hawaii game which will be played tomorrow (Friday) in Seattle (I've corrected my initial post where I had the UDub game being played Thursday.)

UDub has beaten Hawaii and will play at Oregon on Monday in the second round of the WNIT.

I picked Oregon to beat Wisconsin in my bracket and I'm standing by it. UW is not nearly as good as they usually are defensively, and big and quick guards are a real problem for them.

I also picked the Ducks. We'll see how that goes...

So am I reading kenpom correctly when it shows Wisconsin as the better team overall and better both offensively and defensively?

What hurts Wisconsin are good guard who can penetrate off the dribble. I wish I knew that before I picked Wisconsin.

If there's one thing KenPom gets consistently wrong, it's Wisconsin. He once had to write a blog post about it, and he finally tweaked his formula because of it.

Yeah I remember that except they don't play like the usual Wisconsin team this year.

I wouldn't bet $5.00 on Arizona beating Gonzaga, and I really do like them both personally. I think the Zags match up really well against AZ.

Saturday results for WBB:

Colorado wins in round 2 of the WNIT over Southern Utah . YEA BUFFS!!!! Now they await the winner of the UTEP vs St Marys game to be played Monday evening. Location/date/time for the next game all TBD now. If I had to guess I would say CU plays their next game on the road if UTEP wins and at home if St Marys wins.

NCAA round 1 :

9 ASU wins over 8 Vandy
9 USC loses to 8 St John's. USC lead for most of the game but it was close all the way and the Red Storm pulled into the lead with about 3 minutes to play and held on.
2 Stanford easily over 15 South Dakota
7 Cal squeaked by 10 Fordham

Only PAC12 WBB team in action today : NCAA Oregon State 9 seed easily over #8 Middle Tennessee

What a year they've had. Never heard a thing about their program before last month. In doing some reading about their coach it sounds like he has really built them up gradually over the few years he's been there. OSU alum too. Hoping Lappe can follow that arc in the coming years.

Arizona put a whipping on Gonzaga.....I thought UCLA, Stanford and Arizona looked great yesterday and really repped the Pac-12 well.
