Congrats to Spencer. Best wishes and thanks for the memories.

I'm thinking late first/early second round.

25: Houston
Phoenix
Miami
LA Clippers
OKC
San Antonio
2nd
Milwaukee
Philly
Cleveland
Dallas
Utah
Milwaukee
Toronto
Detroit
Philly
Minnesota
41: Denver

Miami? Their PG's are the weakest part of the team and their SG's are getting old and injury-prone.
Tony Parker is on the downside of his career in SA. They could use an eventual replacement. Patty Mills is nice but he's always going to be a backup.
Dallas' PG's are 31 and 32 years old and on the downside.
Milwaukee and Philly are terrible, but their guards are probably their youngest and best players.
Utah just drafted Trey Burke last year. I don't see a reunion with either Alec or Dre. I also don't see the Nuggets drafting a PG.

What do you think?

I have him going to the Lakers, at pick #36. If he goes in the 1st round, I agree Phoenix is the most likely choice.

If he goes to LAL he might just die from excitement.

I think Slider brought up in another thread how huge him going to LA would be for us. Recruiting wise and exposure wise having a very visible player on the most visible team next to Miami would be a huge win for CU.

Based on what Spencer said in his PC I'm guessing in the 2nd before pick 40.

Mavs, Spurs, Heat, and Rockets all have older starting PGs coming off the books either this yr or next. Lin's contract is up in '15, Devin Harris is off the books this year, Parker's up in '15, and Chalmers is up after this year. Doesn't mean they'll all move on, but clearly teams late in the 1st could use a young PG to stash. PHX sounds happy with Eric Bledsoe who's only 24. I wouldn't say they're the most likely, and I hope that isn't where he ends up even though their med staff is the stuff of legend

Would love to see the Nuggets package their 2 second round picks to move up into the early 2nd to get him...especially if they get a really good post player in the 1st round

Would love to see him play in Denver, but I really don't want him playing for the nugs. What a **** show. Also, he wouldn't get to play PG for a while.

I don't know about that...Shaw comes from the Jackson tree that likes big guards and Lawson is as trade-able as he has every been. Shaw is playing the hand he is dealt...but he is gonna want the team in his image sooner rather than later

Popovich aint going to be there much longer, right? Eff SA!

I think he fits that style. If He wasn't a Buff I would have hated playing against Spencer. He could get to the line whenever he wanted or needed to and just made plays. Always. Just like Parker, Ginolbelli, etc.

The only difference is Spencer doesn't flop.

That style be leaving in a year or two.

Milwaukee with 30 and 36. That would suck. Burks and Spencer both stuck in crappy NBA markets

Dre was a surprise 1st rounder. Spencer would be a total stunner. I'm going mid to late second. He's gonna have to work for that contract.

Chad Ford, who is the only draft guy I trust, has him at 42

Spencer told Dave and Dave that he got 1st round grades from many scouts....with the injury being the question mark on those reports.....sorry if this is repeat of presser...I didn't get to catch it

They're not trading Lawson because of someone that they drafted in the 2nd round. Not for years down the line. If Spencer plays for Denver, would have to think they would play him at SG. Or just off the bench.

They would surely get a PG in return for Lawson and Spencer would be back up.....play 2 big PGs together...better than the mighty midgets they play together now

I haven't heard anything that would make me think there is a plan to trade Lawson. Nuggets have a lot of problems, but he really isn't one of them.

This may sound horrible, but I honestly don't care where he goes. I've seen Spencer play for the last time. The NBA is unbearable. I don't begrudge him and I hope he does well, but I won't be paying attention.

Mostly agree. My main rooting interests are for Buffs to be 1st rd picks. And if they're ever on a playoff run, I'll jump on that bandwagon. Could see Spencer carving out a Sam Cassel-like career

So just out of curiosity, how many 2nd rounders are actually solid contributors or even starters in the NBA?
