'12 CA TE Taylor McNamara (Verbal to Oklahoma)

What I'm hearing is that this is not unusual. The situation seems to revolve around hs math courses in the state of California.

My daughter graduated top 5% in her class in Colorado and couldn't take an OV to CSU because the clearinghouse lost her paperwork. It took 9 weeks to resolve it... The Cali school she really wanted to go to moved on and offered her spot to someone else.

Piece of cake until they screw it up...

Well, California's State budget is probably in indication of their ability to teach math. I think the clearinghouse is doing the right thing.

what is this chatter that he might transfer to CU? saw it on twitter-buffscoop

That would be great. It wouldn't be for playing time. OU has maybe 3 TEs on the roster. Maybe he became homesick for the Pac-12 after sitting out with the shoulder injury this year and not feeling part of things. Only thing I could figure as to why he'd think about transferring.

Please Please Please. He would have to sit a year, but man would that upgrade our TE depth almost over night.

Random bump. Saw him in the RRR and checked out his stats.... 1 career reception for 4 yards. He's only played in one game this year

HS rep around San Diego was he didn't have the toughness you'd like to see out if a TE.

Let's get this thread back on track.

We can start a new thread if people are that interested on who from the basketball team would make a good football player. I'm sure goose would love to have that thread in the hoops forum.

I remember being hopeful that CU would land McNamara when we got the visit and he was coming with Shane Dillon for the weekend (those 2 were friends).

Definitely worth a second look as a possible transfer. I assume he'd sit out 2015 as a redshirt and then be a junior in 2016.

Also of note, Inglewood WR Derrick Woods was dismissed from Oklahoma for undisclosed disciplinary reasons. He's got the talent to be worth a look. Could be a Toney Clemons situation with a guy like that where CU is able to get production that wouldn't have been predicted off what the guy did at his former school. In the same class (2012) as McNamara.

He had a rough go at it at OU. Really his only impressions made were during spring games where he looked really slow. Word is that the new OC was not very impressed with his TE abilities.
