2016 WBB Recruit Profile Index

Mega Bummer - Kylee Shook of Mesa Ridge in the Springs, a top prospect in the class of '16 has committed to Louisville over CU and UDub. She's a 6-4 post who is already the all-time shot block leader in state history, averaging over 8 a game this season. She looked to be the type of player the Buffs could really use.

Robbi Ryan has verballed to Arizona State.

Ponderosa player looks very interesting.

May I ask how that shows we are recruiting her?

Only 2 offers she mentioned in her twitter account were Fresno State and Grand Canyon I believe. And this says it's going to be Fresno.

Just wanted to mention that ESPN ( http://espn.go.com/high-school/girl...ng/school/_/id/38/class/2016/page/considering ) has 2 young women in the "considering" category for/ by CU for 2016 (no idea how accurate or all-inclusive these are?), neither of which has been mentioned on this thread:

1) Natalie Chou, a (tall) 6' guard from Plano West HS in Texas. (She is definitely a "blue chipper"/ highly rated player per ESPN- 5 star, 96 ranking, #3 ranked guard nationally, #15 ranked player overall. ESPN says she is considering "Stanford Cardinal, California Golden Bears, UCLA Bruins, Colorado Buffaloes, Connecticut Huskies, Georgetown Hoyas, Louisville Cardinals, Duke Blue Devils, Baylor Lady Bears, Texas Longhorns, Oregon Ducks, South Carolina Gamecocks, TCU Horned Frogs".)

and

2) Madison Washington, a 6'1" wing from Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas. (3 star rating, 90 score, #11 ranked wing in the country by ESPN. They have her considering "USC Trojans, Colorado Buffaloes, Georgetown Hoyas, Oklahoma State Cowgirls, Gonzaga Bulldogs, Kansas Jayhawks, UNLV Lady Rebels, TCU Horned Frogs, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Wichita St Shockers".)

Given who is on Chou's list it's hard to imagine CU has a shot at her. She strikes me as the type who if she is qualified for Stanford she'll go there. Hope I am wrong.

Washington seems more likely to choose CU.

Interesting that we continue to read about perimeter players CU is recruiting, but clearly they need a post player and perhaps a power forward.

I share Mark's concern for post players. We need somebody inside in the next class.

On another note, I'm happy that all five members of this year's class are on campus.

With early signing day less than a couple days away, thought I'd follow up on the 2 young women I'd noted above (back in late May-post #17) as "considering" CU per ESPN. From Google search, looks like Natalie Chou chose Baylor, and Madison Washington chose Oregon State.

The ESPN link I provided in that earlier post doesn't show anyone in the "Considering" tab for CU in 2016 at this time.

Hope there is a surprise during the early signing period or we may have mediocrity in our future.

Normally I wouldn't want to cast doubt before the signing day gets here, but at this point it doesn't look good. The current group of freshmen looks fantastic, but the two classes that preceded them aren't deep with talent and it appears the the next group won't be as well. So I agree with buffgal that unless there are some big surprises the team will be mediocre in the future.

It's interesting that both Oregon and Oregon State are both doing a great job recruiting wise and both have verbals from players that CU was very interested in.

With most of the top 100 prospects having verbally committed it looks like CU isn't going to come close to replicating the talent of this year's group.

At the Lappe Hour event and Coach just mentioned that we have 2 recruits from the same AAU team in WA coming in next year. I know I suck at updating the recruiting boards, but does anyone know? I know we have Rice. Who else? Did I miss something? @buffgal @BeBe @MarkW

Also she asked if any of us have nieces that can play the post.

Thank you. I'm an idiot.

An idiot that needs to update the first post. I'll throw that up there tomorrow when I'm not on my phone.

And I am still not impressed with that recruiting class. Coach Kelly spent about a week in Europe before the Missouri game. I am so hoping she was recruiting a post player.

I don't like high schools recruiting kids. Saw it happen when I was in high school and didn't like it then and don't like it now.
