Official Construction Update Thread

Must be doing a lot of dry wall finishing. The texturing truck has been parked outside, near the tunnel, for the last couple of days. At least that's what I think the truck is for, unless it's insulation maybe.

Moving right along on the the bottom floor for the player spaces...I'm sure that's the priority for being ready for Fall camp.

RG's tour is well done. Said what needs to be said and showed what needed to be shown.

I like how he called out that the NFL wing will be among the last thing the players see before taking the field. Talk about defining a dream.

Not a fan of the term "Thunder Chute", at least not in the context of this thread.

This project has been done nearly to perfection, given our situation and finite means. RG deserves a tremendous amount of credit. I shudder to think where we'd be without him.

Am I the only person that can't wrap his head around how the coach is going to see every player from the center of the locker room? The configuration seems oddly angular to me.

You can see the hub and spokes, but it does look like players will have to step back from their lockers a bit to see the coach at the hub.

I'm betting we begin to see windows and doors being installed on the west and south elevations pretty soon.

I wish the parking garage view wasn't so damned obstructed.

I know, how dare they put it underground. We want to see dammit!

I, for one, would like to see a camera angle from the top of the stadium looking down on the IPF. With all the trees and framing, you can't see **** now. I think it was shlder2shlder's pic from the west side that had a good view of it.

Well, damn. They already have a bunch of windows in I think. Really hard to tell from the cam but I think the upper level west side windows are in.

Don't think they are in yet, because last night there was no reflection of the sun off of them. However, they look like they will be going in very soon.

Im going to tour it at the end of june, how far do you think we'll be?

The*football team will start moving into the locker room this month, around the 25th. Players lounge will have all they need - chairs, tvs, pool table, PS4, Xbox etc. Not trying to be Oregon who needs Ferrari leather and Brazilian hardwood to keep their kids blind to the fact that gray skies and rain are the*norm. Don't forget, the build started on 5/12/14, with all staff in the new build by 8/1/15. Equipment staff starts moving in next week. Go Buffs!

A good amount of the lead designers and contractors from Mortenson and Populus graduated from CU, impressive!

That's insane. So impressed by what has happened. I was beyond skeptical that CU would ever get a meaningful facilities project done, let alone one that is considered elite and got completed on this schedule.
