Official CU vs Arizona game day thread

MacIntyre: "We are real close. Really only two plays away from winning. It's tough. We had a couple key breakdowns and in fact they were the same player. I can only coach so much and if the player doesn't get it right, I can't help that. We will keep fighting and win my second conference game in three years. We had a chance in the last few minutes. It's about execution. We are gonna have our best Monday practice ever. I guarantee it."
You better make it known that this was your attempt at sarcasm

So gratifying to watch Sefo hold on to the ball for a full ten seconds before taking an 18 yard sack at an absolutely critical point of the game in the 4th quarter.

I give up.
Until he is gone, we may never win a PAC game. His complete incompetence was mind numbing. Wide open receiver after wide open receiver and he apparatly can't see them. He had all day to pass yesterday many times and just threw it out of bounds or to a hot receiver behind the line of scrimmage. Just horrible. Lindgren doesn't do anyone any favors with his horrible play calling either. Wow, I told my wife today I can't watch another game with him as QB. Please god let Montez be our savior.

I honestly had no doubts the whole game. Similar to every team you play.
BS. We were goddamn awful, and played to lose in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters. With this patchwork defense (not to mention the crapfest that is the 3-3-5 scheme), inconsistent Anu, and terrible Special Teams, I was certainly thinking we could lose. And it's not cool to punch people when they're down. Let's save that for the Xavier Johnson's of the world during BBall season.

Appreciate the thoughts, good luck with the rest of the season.

So, who makes the decision to change out QBs? OC or HC? I'm curious because RR, or his OC, realized that Anu wasn't working and threw a QB with wheels in there and no one freaked out. It also turned out to be pretty effective. Should we be trying something similar at this point?

Oregon State is pretty dang bad. Our defense (which you saw was pretty bad) held them to 7 points. That's not very good. Breaking in a Freshman QB as well. @OrSt. probably won't matter much.

Outside of the Randal sets our Freshman LBs did a pretty good job. Seemed like Wantanabe played lights out last night.

Of course.
I get the frustration around here, and Oregon State is going to give CU their best shot (They want to win in conference too)... but it isn't gonna matter. CU will beat them.
Tired of the condescending attitude. We know we suck, don't need some front runner giving us moral support.

Wantanabe played really well considering that they wanted him to redshirt and had no choice but to pull it. he will be a monster come his Jr and Sr year.

We have some gamers at LB. Just sucks they are so young. Falo, Gamboa, Watanabe are going to be awesome for us.

What bothered me so much about the Zona game was that Colorado had the game won until RR put in the backup QB. The D was working perfectly at containing Solomon and he was ineffective. I don't think they win that game if he had stayed in. So, RR seeing this, puts in his backup QB to run the wildcat and the D folds. Ballgame.

So frustrating that they just plug in their backup in desperation and it works exactly as needed.

bump.

The only thing that I would say about Rich Rod putting their backup in is that that guy has had significant time already this year (not to mention him being a 5th year senior), so he knew what he was getting when he made the switch.

I'm through with Sefo too, and I'd like to see some sort of change, but it's not like MM has the same caliber backup ready to come in and save the day.

Yeah, Randall is Arizona's 2nd leading rusher. Putting him in wasn't some revelation that Rich Rod had about Anu Solomon, but rather a complete change of pace that he knew we wouldn't be able to handle. Another case in point, why it's so important to have a true dual threat QB.
