Cannot believe CU's first two games, nationally televised, are on weekday afternoons. Now I have to avoid news until I can watch the recorded game. That aside, this is a game we really need to win. Given our struggles on the road, this will be a difficult test.

This one will go a long way toward determining the shape of this season.

from Buffzone:

Auburn opened the season with a one-point win against an Alabama-Birmingham squad that knocked off Iowa State in the first round of the NCAA tournament last spring. The Tigers debuted three key newcomers — T.J. Dunans, Tyler Harris and Kareem Canty — who combined for 51 points. According to CU head coach Tad Boyle, those new faces make the Tigers a far more formidable foe than a year ago.

"Auburn is much-improved. Very athletic," Boyle said. "Play extremely hard with a lot of energy and passion. They're much, much better than they were last year.

Last game was SRO. This one will be too. Should be a great game.

Didn't UAB have to replace both their guards that carried them to the tourney last year?

UAB is struggling right now. They barely held on for a 2 point home win over Alabama State last night. Alabama State isn't a bad team by any stretch (won at VA Tech), but UAB is nowhere close to what they were at the end of last season.

I mostly agree with this, but I would phrase it slightly differently. A win and the team is on track, though we won't know if this means NCAA/NIT or bust until December...a loss and we may as well toss the rest of the season in the nearest outhouse.

The Alabama vs Dayton lead-in game has commenced. I'm hoping someone wins by double digits so we don't have fouls extending this one and delaying us seeing the opening tip for the Buffs. They'd probably start on 2/U/News if that happens, though, right?

Last night they started Oregon/Baylor on ESPNNews when Utah/SDSU ran long.

Part of me wants to disagree, but if we lose this game the fanbase could start to turn on this team and we are going to need people to show up this year.

Good sign for starting on time on ESPN. Dayton-Alabama got to the locker room in under an hour and Dayton leads at home by 16.

I like Bruce Perle ... he's entertaining. Afraid he'll outcoach us today ... hope I'm wrong.

Scott playing very well early. Liking Dom, too.

Also -- can someone please tell the next broadcast crew that Chauncey went to GW and Dom went to Denver East. Not the same high school.
