1st, Happy Thanksgiving holiday everyone!

The Buffs finish off their regular (hopefully not overall) season against a tough Utes team that ALWAYS seems to challenge (if not defeat) the Buffs. (The Buffs suffered (by far) worst RPI loss this year in their conference season opening match visiting the Utes, who are currently RPI rated 126.) The Buffs have beaten Utah the last 3 years in a row in Boulder, but the last 2 years have both been TIGHT 5 set victories. (I especially remember a couple years ago, when I believe the Buffs had to mount a furious comeback to send that year's seniors off with a win on their day, as well as probably having been necessary for them to earn their 1st spot in the NCAA tourney in many years.)

Note to team- don't feel any obligation to us fans to give us extra excitement or more points to see; feel free to sweep the Utes if you have the opportunity. We'll be fine with that. Be hungry and relentless!

About the Utes (From http://www.cubuffs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=600&ATCLID=210529809 )
"Utah is 10-19 this season and is 10th in the conference (4-14). The Utes have recorded a 5-8 road record this season and have gone 1-5 in the last six matches. Adora Anae is fourth in the conference with 4.23 kills per set and adds 3.32 digs per set, which also leads the Utes. Brenna Young is 10th in the league in blocks, averaging 1.11 per set. UU leads the all-times series against the Buffs at 8-6. The Utes defeated CU (3-1) to start the conference season back in September."
(Note- after the above was written, the Utes were swept in Salt Lake City Wednesday afternoon by the nationally #2 ranked Washington Huskies.)

Senior Day Note- I also mentioned it in another thread, but since this is the official game, here are links to the nice article and accompanying videos on the 2 great and team transforming seniors who will be donning their Buff uniforms for their last time in Boulder at this match-

Luv your note to the team. And I wholeheartedly agree! I could do with a nice no stress Buffs victory tomorrow, especially after the nailbiter yesterday.

And the match is beginning.

I am thankfully out of town having a great time with family, but do wish I could have transported to the Keg for a couple hours just to applaud the team overall and the seniors in particular for doing a GREAT job while exceeding expectations this year. (After being picked a distant 6th in the Pac pre-season poll, they are insured either a solo (with a win today) or tie for (if a loss) 5th place finish in the Pac, with the perception of many going into the year (mainly due to the loss of 1st Team All-American Taylor Simpson and a few other seniors to graduation) being the Buffs would regress some, while it looks like they'll end up almost identical to last year.)

Hope anyone at the match will make a little extra noise to make up for my absence, giving the whol!

7-14. Another TO for CU. (Buffs making some unforced hitting errors they can't afford, and passing definitely hasn't been at an "A" level either.)

As with Wednesday's match, looking like an UGLY 1st set, with the Buffs losing 17-21 so far while hitting negative %. They are looking a little better the last few points, causing a Ute TO.

Buffs lose the 1st 19-25. Looks like as on Wednesday, the Buffs will need to play catch-up.

Buffs struggled in many facets of the game in the 1st set loss. No consistency or emotion from the team.

Always wonder how senior days/ final matches of the regular season effect teams, as they MUST feel somewhat different emotionally.

Hope Simpson's OK after taking that shot. Staying in, but that has to hurt taking a spike in the face.

Buffs get the MATCH WIN a 25-17 win in the 4th. They've done all they can do today.

Hopefully the selection committee can look beyond the JOKE that sometimes is the RPI.

In addition to a special thanks and congrats to the seniors today, forgot to congratulate Buff volleyball program overall (including ALL the Buff players and coaches of the past and present) on its 500th all-time victory!
