Took an OV to Boulder this past weekend after previously tripping to Toledo. Expected to decide between the two programs this week and enroll this January.

Rivals update from Adam today:

"[Buffaloes cornerbacks] coach Charles Clark came out to see me play and shortly afterward they offered and got me out on a visit," Ento recapped. "I know they were talking to my coach but to me, they were kind of new to the mix. I took a visit out there this weekend and it went very well, I really liked it."

Soon-to-be junior receiver Shay Fields served as his player host when Ento was in Boulder. Aside from its distance to his home, nothing about his experience at Colorado was a negative.

From Adam's article, he sounds like a possession receiver who can jump to high point the ball. So, projects to the Spruce spot and probably similar to Bobo or, hopefully, Simas.

Interesting. Wonder what that says about Jan. Isn't he supposed to fill that kind of possession role?

I think it says more about the whole group. Most are small and several may never contribute. I've heard good things on Jan. We lead the nation in WR's under 6'0" tall.

Bobo is on notice. Looks like a nice big target, and it's rare that you have too many of those.

I'm going to be honest, I don't quite get this offer. Not saying the kid can't play - not saying anything on talent here.

We have a small class. We have WRs committed and on the roster (at least bodies, argument is open on how talented current WRs are outside of Fields). We have recruited well this cycle for these skilled offense and defense type of players. With the few remaining spots left, why not go all in on a few remaining targets on the O and D line, especially a JUCO? Guys like Hawkins that we've been after a bit for awhile, sure, keep after them...but a new offer to a WR? I don't get it with the limited space.

Please feel free to delete if you feel this is disparaging to the recruit or misplaced... ...but this offer doesn't make sense to me at this point in the process.

I do not get the fit either.

Maybe there is a bigger picture here than we can see. Maybe one of the underclassmen WR are leaving. Maybe a guy like Jan is moving to TE. Maybe after seeing Spruce as the only guy we can count on and now he is gone, we need better talent at WR.
As far as needing juco players on OL, your logic is very flawed. If Irwin does indeed get a redshirt, we already have 6 junior OL for next year. You want to add another? This doesn't make sense as a fit. And the juco OL we seem to get do not play right away.

No issues with reasoned criticism in a recruit thread. Up until he commits. At that point, he's a Buff and we don't want to piss on those Cheerios and be anything but welcoming & supportive.

But it's not like we've got a moratorium on pointing out that it's an issue if a QB prospect stands at 5'9" or whatever. :)

Welcome aboard. That means he's here for spring ball which is really a step up.

So was this guy recruited by Chiv?
