Lewis signed with Washington, redshirted as a freshman, was dismissed for violating team rules, transferred to Coffeyville, and then - after missing the first 5 games of the year this season with a broken thumb - averaged 12 tackles a game, including a dominating 22 tackle, 3 sack performance in his return to action against Dodge City CC.

Adam caught up with Mr. Lewis yesterday: https://colorado.n.rivals.com/news/juco-backer-high-on-the-buffaloes

“It could change but I might be favoring Colorado a little bit right now,” he said. “Coming back to the Pac-12 appeals to me. We'll see how my visit there goes but I'd go Colorado first right now and then Memphis, probably, and then Utah State.”

When is he visiting? Facilities are about 95% finished. Should blow him away.

I'll never understand how they come up with the ratings for certain guys. Lewis was a 3* 5.5 coming out of high school on Rivals, has a really good season at a JUCO... and now he's a 2* 5.4 rated guy. Whatever.

I just don't think they bother to rate them, that is the place holder rating for almost every uncommitted recruit.

That is one of the reasons i find it interesting when peopel flip out about a recruit when if you look at the profile the reason they are ranked that way is more often than not a place holder. Then everyone jumps all over themselves when they get "upgraded" when really all that happened is finally someone looked at the film and actually assigned the number.

With 1000's of high school recruits, I can't blame them really for not devoting staff to the JUCO side. So much to keep track of as it is.

If he can get up to 230 for the season he has a great size/speed combo. Something we don't have on the roster currently.

I am surprised ther is not a lot more excitement about this guy coming to CU. He was a legit prep recruit at UW and was going to get a good bit of playing time as a RSFR until Pederson ran him off. He has legit Pac-12 size and speed. A good get for the Buffs.

Would be nice if it was made official...

There is no lack of excitement. Everyone just waits until we see something public from the player, his coach or a media member. Once that happens, it's peanut butter jelly time!

I've actually got Drew's twitter open on my desktop while working today (along with several other recruits I'm watching closely).

I'm very excited for him to be a part of our team. Can't wait for it to be official.

LB depth has really been a concern, especially in a 3-4 lol. Not only does he add depth, but it sounds like he'd be able to make an impact immediately, and for multiple years.

If our name is associated with the player, they subtract a star.

If Oregon is suddenly associated with the player, they add a star.

If Alabama, tOSU, or wherever Harbaugh is is associated with the player (or he has 25 P5 offers) they add two stars.

CYA...
