Dissapointed in several members of the Mens BBall team

Late in the 3rd Q of the Rocky Mountain Beatdown, I'm up on the concourse on the CU side, and I hear another chorus of the "It sucks to be a CSU Ram cheer". I look up to see 5-6 members of the BBall team leading it.

May be the old fuddy duddy in me, but I hate that "cheer" in general, and find no place for members of our team to be leading it.

I lean toward agreeing with the open.

I don't think that the "it sucks to be a CSU ram" chant does much for meeting the "higher" standing that many CU graduates seem to place on their institution. You all represent your university just as the basketball team. Only difference is that they are public representatives. If this is the image you want, then support it all you want.

Besides, they already know it sucks. Chanting that is like stomping on their balls. I thought that was a bad thing.

Oh, and for the record. Kansas blows and Texas sucks!

Is this the same @ZandiBuff that shows up in basketball game day threads when the Buffs are losing and bitches and whines about Tad's coaching and the heartless basketball team? A group of teenagers and 20somethings should be following your council when it comes to exhibiting class and maturity? Yeah, no.

Hands down one of the worst posts I've read on this forum in a long time. I think I understand where you are coming from, but these are 18-23 year old kids, who attended a University like every other student. They look as the Rams as rivals too as they members of the student body. Either A. You are a Ram or B. You want these STUDENTS to act like professional athletes. At least we're not Baylor.

Let the kids have some fun with their fellow students.

The members of our men's basketball team are students. Students have cheers like that. I have absolutely no problem with it. None. Go ahead. Have at it.

The chant doesn't include obscenity, doesn't include personal attacks on specific individuals, doesn't include threats or encourage violence. In the world of college fans it is pretty mild. No reason to freak out.

I absolutely love hearing this. It's great that student-athletes at CU get to be part of the student body and engage like that. It's great that the basketball team supports the football team and vice versa. This is not what it is like at many schools.

I don't think you can hold it against students for yelling "It sucks to be a CSU ram." It's just like libel -- truth is a defense.

Damn kids, how dare they support fellow students and their university.

It sucks...to be.. a poster who's slammed, I said it sucks, to be, a poster who's slammed....

The Chidera-Bibbs Twitter wars of 2013 in the leadup to the CSU hoops game were a great example of some good mixing it up that the athletes of one sport did in defense of another sport on campus. I like to see basketball returning the favor here. They're students and they're having fun and supporting their fellow athletes. Great stuff.

Pay no mind. Here are some select quotes from Zandi showing he doesn't care for our team anyway. He thinks the basketball team sucks because he appears to only show up in game threads where we lose. Odd.

Dom's out of his league playing D1 bball.
We have 2 3* guards and an unranked PF coming in. UCLA has 3 5* players in this class, U$C has a 4* guard, cal has a 4* guard, AZ has a 5* guard and a 4* PF. ASU has 2 4* players. Oregon 3 4* players. OSU has a 4* guard. Stanford has a 4* C.

Exactly WHO are we "building" talent over?

We are about to lose the single best player we've had since Chauncy and you think we're "building"? Sorry, this team isn't on an upward trajectory.
Never said that. Just said J40 is the best since Chauncy.

Are any of those coming back next year? Or are we "building" talent with all of our 3* limited offer players?

Who recruited all of those players, BTW?
It is fun to watch a team that actually practices offense.

Maybe we should try that, since all that defense practice we've been doing is going so well
Out rebounded at home. By the worst team in the league.

Next year is going to SUCK.
Also prefers the NIT over the NCAA.
If we finish around 42 in RPI - last projection I saw - how bad are these last few loses going to look to a selection committee?

Is it like football where losing late is worse than losing early?

At this point I'd rather go to the NIT. This team will get crushed by any legitimate tourney team

I could keep going, but I've wasted enough time on you. You're a miserable fan and I wish you kept your thoughts on the games to your personal facebook or twitter or ****ing anything else besides here.

I'm 57. My wife seems to think this qualifies me as being "old." Regardless, I was thinking, before this thread was started, that it was a bit surprising the chant didn't begin by the end of the first quarter when the game was effectively over.

Was it two seasons ago when CU was hosting CSU in men's basketball and the Buffs were up around twenty when the student section broke into the chant quite enthusiastically? That was classic.

In the grand scheme of things I find it to be quite tame.

This is so horrible and I cannot believe the bball team would be excited or support the football program. I am so ashamed and mortified.
Give me a ****ing break. That is pure allsome and I cannot even believe this thread was started. Unreal.

He left out Washington has one of the top players in Fultz (5*). Stars are like preseason rankings, get the fanbases hyped, but in the end when the games start, it doesnt matter. Only production matters.
