This is our schedule, now who is with me in seeing 10-2 as a very real possibility?

Kansas, we barely lost to this year.

Mizzou and FSU will be extremely tough, but looking at how our offense got a lot of reps this year, as Freshman. They will be going into next year with A LOT more confidence. Especially on that Line. Our D will be a mystery. However I think It will be solid enough for our offense to put points on the board.

So whos with me?

10-2? Or am I just crazy?

Or both?

At quick glance, that schedule looks pretty damn tough from September 20 through October 25 - based upon where things stand today. Anxious to hear what the changes are in the FSU game (location?/Date?).

Your crazy..

Depends on the recruiting class but I would sign up for 7-5 or 8-4 with that schedule right now..

Of the first 9 games, we might have more talent than probably 2 of them..

I think WVU is winnable...just have to see if their top players enter the draft (which I think they will)

Texas is winnable as well. They just ain't what they used to be.

FSU, KSU, Mizzou are the toughest games imo.

changes in the FSU game ?? what's up ?? this is the first I've heard of this.

I'd love 10-2 but see 8-4 at best.
Mizzou, Kansas on the road - ouch
FSU won't be easy
WVA and Texas at home aren't 'gimmies'
OSU game could be a track meet.

Texass is winnable but they are loaded w/4 & 5 start talent-
they haven't slipped that much. They ran into a buzz saw today.
Fran's players where playing for their coach today knowing it was his last at A&M.

No way Pat White goes pro. Slatton might, but I'm not sure having Devine play full time is that much better.

Next season's schedule is looking as hard as this season's. We should be better though, so 8-4 sounds good to me.

I can't say I totally agree with that.

They may have the star's but really that doesnt mean a whole lot on the field when it comes to game planning.

Hawk is a sneaky one, with his playcalling.

What he lacks in "Talent" he makes up for in trickery. Does it work all the time? Nah. But when it does it pays HUGE dividends.

Just read an article in the camera that said FL St is proposing moving the game to Jacksonville or Tampa. It is their idea and Bohn said he was very interested and would not be opposed. Game will also likely move up a week to Sept 13 which would provide a nice break in that tough part of the schedule.

I hate to say this but 7-5 is my guess and I am thinking positive, that schedule is tough! We could go 10-2 and I see what your saying but I think next year is a lot like this year (gotta see the rest of this recruiting class, scott would make a big difference imo) but with improvement, 2009 though is when we are a 10-2 type of team realisticly

With aTm getting a new coach you cant assume that the weekend after the 25th will be easy. aTm is not devoid of talent.

With KSU and ISU on the rise I'd say the only easy game will E Wash. I'll guess that KU has a lot of seniors so that game will be easier with the talent drain.

Exactly. There are 3 to 4 tough but winnable games on the schedule that could make the difference between 7 or 10 wins. Also we lose Wheatly and Dizon and a few others on defense.

csu will be breaking in a new coach and QB-
Buffs win by at least 14

That is about the record I think is possible. Like this year, we could drop one or two that I think we will have a tough time winning, and there are one or two that we could pull the rabbit out of the hat with too. So 12-0 is possible, and another 6-6 year is possible. But I expect to see gains from the team again. 8-4 or 9-3 sounds about right.

The interesting thing over the next two years will be seeing how Balleneger progresses. If he is a QB that is that good, how do you keep him benched? Can Cody maintain the starting job? I think with the o-line progressing, he can, although if he can't hit the long bombs down the middle or throw with alot of zip (frozen rope) and Ballanger can, it will make things interesting. I LOVE Cody's leadership; does pure talent overcome leadership? (assuming Matt is not the vocal leader that Cody is).

first thing, great post!

I see us coming in at 7-5, with some room for improvement. Our away games look tough. I don't know what happens with KU/MU this year with graduating seniors, but playing them at home isn't appealing.

I like our chances with CSU, WV, EC, ISU, OSU, NU and KSU.

The others look difficult, althought Texass is struggling...

I see anywhere from 5-7 to 8-4. This team has many question marks next season, and the schedule doesn't get any easier.

Right now I see 5 games I think they should win: CSU, E. Wash, KSU, ISU, and OSU. EW and ISU should be wins no matter what, and if this program is taking a step forward next season, then the other 3 should be wins. The other 7 games will be tough, and the only team they would be as talented as or better will be KU. 2009 should be the breakout year imo.

Ballenger starts next year. Mark my words.

8-4. =) 10 and 2 is unlikely at best.. lol. I think when Cody and company are all juniors or seniors, i'll vote for 10- 2.
The scary thing is though is that i can see us going 5-7 with a ton of close games.. Ugh. But Love how we play a tough schedule every year!

7-5 that schedule is rediculous and just continues to prove that it is totally unneccessary to play a tough non-con schedule when we have to play UT, A&M at College Station, Columbia, and Lincoln.

KU has five seniors. I believe Mizzou has 7. Likely they both will be pretty damn good next year.

I plan on going to every game home and away next year

I only made it to all the home games this year

The next few seasons are going to be great

KU will lose Talib as well. They are graduating 4 DBs. Their secondary is going to hurt. Much has been made of their offense, but the strength of this team is their defense. Reesing is damn good too.

MU loses 3 WRs, 1 (future NFL) TE and possibly another TE if he declares early. That is too many skill positions to be a mNC contender. If Mizzou is to win the mNC they do it this year. They'll be be a strong, formidable opponent, especially with Daniel as their QB (no way does he declare early).

Both games will be hard, especially on the road. I like our road schedule next year, IMO. It helps setup a good run in 2009. The team knows how to play at home, next year we need to learn how to play well on the road.

Missouri will be good as long as Daniel is there.. He's the one that makes them tick..
