COLORADO @ CSU 12/2 at 11 AM

You figure with Tory in there, we get 4-5 more defensive boards at least, and they don't score on 2nd chance buckets or at the line. That's the difference. If our shooters are off, we're gonna be handcuffed this year.

MK4 is just special. If he had stuck with Dayton, this would likely be a very dismal season.

Tads recruiting has been suspect....game planning marginal. McKinley Wright the real deal.

Seemed like CSU got good bounces, had bad shots falling, and played with a little more intensity and effort. Bad loss to a bad team, but as usual CSU brought it against the Buffs. Sucked not having Tory out there as nobody picked up the slack. Just hope this is one of those losses the team learns from.

Hope UR right.

Tough to learn how to be big.

Last year we lost to CSU by 14 at home with four 5th year seniors. That was one of the more painful games I have watched. This young team went on the road and never gave up. There are going to be many rough games this year but as long as they keep fighting I will keep cheering them on. McK does not like to lose and I expect CSU to lose big at the Keg next year after he has stewed on this loss for a year. Feel very lucky to have him playing for us.

Hopefully he won’t get “too good” too soon...

This. We're a very young, very raw, not very good team who lost a starter 2 days before an in-state rivalry game on the road. Not sure what people were expecting from this one. The whole team outside of Kin played like ****. This will be a GREAT learning experience for everyone. Bey now realizes what he's gonna have to do to get boards in college. Brown got a good reminder that he needs to stay aggressive. And Schwartz, Siewart, Walton and Nikolic all got a rude introduction to what is going to be needed from them the rest of the season.

Namon, King & Collier all need to step up. All three were disappointing today.

I still agree with Nik - play .500 ball the rest of the year and fight your way into the NIT so we can get some more experience. Thank King, Dom and Tory for everything they did for the program, bring in the new guys and get ready for the next step.

That's what espn said. Looks like rivals had him as a 3 star.
And 247 had him just outside its top 150 (166). Don't pay attention to ESPN on BB recruiting. I'm not sure they even have a scouting department for hoops. They're also notorious for bizarre rankings even in football - i.e., Jaisen Sanchez was a 4* for football iirc.

Just finished watching it-was out during the game. Looks like Wright played well and we got killed on the boards with no Tory. We're young and raw (clearly). We're not as good as 6-0, and CSU isn't as bad as they looked against Tulane in particular. Onto UNM-let's take care of them, and then hope to hang in with Xavier as long as we can.

Yup. If we’re 7-2 next week we’ll be a game ahead of where I (and many others) had them. Considering the youth on this team, that’s something to be happy about.

Would've been nice to have Evan Battey to bang down there. And to set screens. There were a few times that Walton just set the screen at the wrong angle. He'll learn those little things.

This game was the definition of growing pains for me

In 2017 Tad brought in arguably the best recruiting class CU has ever had. Including unranked McKinley Wright.
And none besides McKinley look like difference makers....lets face ut...if you dont contribute as a frosh....you are probably not going to be much of a factor....Tad was lucky to get McKinley....class contributions without him a D-....

Yeah, that's really not a good argument. The player who was expected to make the second biggest contribution this year was declared ineligible by the NCAA prior to the season - something no one at CU could have done anything about (or really seen coming). On top of that, the other three have all looked solid in the minutes they've gotten. I expect Bey to pick up quite a few more minutes now that Tory is out for the year and Schwartz is gonna be a guy who just slowly gets more and more PT as the season goes on and things come to him. Hell, even Lazar who I fully expected to RS this year has been acceptable in the little PT he's gotten.

Don’t feed the moron. I’m not even going to call him a troll anymore.

Tis funny how the Tad lovers won't argue the facts...that Tad has had a mediocre record since Dinwiddie (3 years)...gotten spanked in post season play last three years....not recruited an NBA caliber player since Dinwiddie.. got a transfer from UCCS that was already a stud...gotten whooped by your little sister rival two years in a row...go ahead with the Roll Tad love affair while coaches like Hurley leave him in the dust and we finish in the bottom 4 of the P12!!! Giddyup!!!

Not sure what people were expecting from this one.

How bout wining a game against a bad team? Is beating a Mountain West team with minimal talent and a losing record really unfair to expect?

You mention us being inexperienced and on the road....well in this game last year we were a veteran team at home. How did that one turn out?

I wasn't surprised by the loss, everyone knew CSU would want this one bad, especially after dropping one to the nobody ever even heard of me school (Missouri State). No CU shouldn't lose to CSU, but CSU shot lights out, even on contested three pointers and that will happen from time to time, plus this was the first real road test for these young Buffs. I think they will learn a lot from the game and I have to admit, I love that they never gave up. It will be a long year for these young Buffs, but I still think we are getting exactly what we expected and I firmly believe that, thanks to this recruiting class, CU has a very bright future ahead in basketball.
