ASU/Texas

My money is on ASU. Tejas has not impressed this year and I think they should be able to exploit the horns' secondary.

Wow, you've gotta feel for that "Chris" guy, obviously he just got WAY too excited and couldn't control himself. The appearance of a play like that all but guarantees to me that ASU will win this game, 21 point deficit or not.

It just always seems to work out that way, one notorious play leads to an absolute meltdown in all phases of the game. The next 3 quarters should be REAL fun for Sun Devils fans!

Ohhh... very interesting. I don't think I've ever seen a team recover this well from a comically disastrous turn of events like that. Carpenter muffing that wide open TE on 4th down coupled with Mack's fake punt might have tipped things back in Texas' favor, or at least into a wash. Damn, I can't get a feel on this one at all :wow:

How in the world did they conclude he definitely touched it. The SEC officials must have eyes in the back of there heads. They are a little strange acting so maybe they do have the extra eyes there.

The reverse angle, imho, shows the ball appearing to change angle ever so slightly as it rolled over his thumb. Either way, he was on the field and expressed an intent to interfere with the play which wasn't good.

its a nonissue at this point. texas recovered momentum from that turn of events, as evidenced by being up 18 points at the half - even after that end of the half disasterous fumble.

mack understands that firing up his team at half is critical when playing the pitchforks. i am going to hypothesize that he does not "mack factor" this game.

This game is just further proof that Rudy Carpenter is one of the most prolific hit or miss quarterbacks of all time. Texas has definitely found him on a "miss" night, but Colorado? Oy, he couldn't have been more "hit" than he was that night.

I like Mack Brown and I like Texas when they are not playing CU, so I am impressed with the way they have played tonight however they have proved once again my disdain for the spread offense, it sucks ass, bring back the "T".

Who'd have thunk UT would distroy ASU? Mop up time.

UT just might be a tougher opponent next season than WVU or FSU.

Glad the game will be in Boulder. That might become a hot ticket.

i enjoyed the disdain for rudy. he shoulda kept his yap shut instead of running it. he might have missed a serenading.

people ripped McCoy this year, but i think he's a pretty good player on balance the times i've seen him.

horns will be improved next year and a real handfull at Folsom, but not unbeatable.

I'm not sure if I heard this right, but I think Herbstreit said Texas only has one offensive starter who is a senior. Charles may leave early as a junior. Don't know what they look like on defense, but Texas could be for real next season.

Texas has as good a collection of athletes as any team in the country and has had them for years. They are bigger and faster at most positions than most programs. Heck, I have seen way too many games when we are lined up against them and it looks like men against boys. Their issue is getting the team to gel.

Until their recruiting takes a serious dive, which will not happen with the advent of the Big XII, they will always be a tough team even when they are not playing at their best.

It should be a very good game in Boulder next season.

This was a great win for us tonight to build on for next season. There are rumblings going on right now that Charles will go to the NFL since he had a good game tonight but I am not sure I completely believe all of them. This was the most complete game Texas has played all year and I really think that it was good for our young team. It is true that we have 10 starters returning on Offense and most of our horrible Defensive players are graduating (see Scott Derry for a prime example).

In any case, this game really made me feel much better heading into the spring with high hopes for next year. I look forward to making the trip to Boulder next year to see the Horns and the Buffs square off. If both programs continue on their current paths it should be a great game.

Charles says he’s coming back

By Kirk Bohls | Friday, December 28, 2007, 12:22 AM

Texas running back Jamaal Charles said late Thursday he plans on returning for his senior season.

Charles said after Texas’ 52-34 victory: “Right now, I’m probably coming back. I didn’t think I did that good in the game. Next year maybe I’ll be up for the Heisman. I will come back.”

Charles gained 161 yards on 27 carries. He scored two touchdowns.

not that surprising. texas players under brown rarely go pro early and while the 09 senior class at rb looks very good right now, i expect most of them to go pro early as this year´s looks really weak.

That was a good win for the Big 12 conference.

I was very impressed with the Texas defense. They absolutely throttled Rudy Carpenter. I remain convinced that in today's college football the best defense is to put maximum pressure on the quarterback.

great game last night! charles has been clear that if he would not go in the first round, he will stay. he is leaning towards staying overall. on the charles note, those brothers are stunningly talented! when i watch hugh, and moreso jamal, i wish i could have seen their older brother, who, by all accounts was the most talented of the bunch. he had to be sick.

texas is going to be a tough as nails team next year. the rrso (rrr? or whatever pc thing they turned it into) is going to be flat awesome! also, the game in boulder is going to be a good one, if everything falls into place on both ends.

are hugh and jamal related? jamal is from port arthur and Hugh is from southlake/keller.

EDIT: no mention of them being brothers in their bios on the ut and CU websites.
