Official ****braska Hate Thread

The younger three McCaffrey brothers haven't had anywhere near the impact for their college teams as Christian did. Luke will be a flat out bust.
Maybe I'm lost in this whole McCaffrey web, but I'm pretty sure Christian is second oldest - his older brother was an ok receiver at Duke. Next in line hasn't played a down at meat-chicken, and the youngest is still at Valor. Personally, I question the youngest sticking with his nub commit once Frost is exposed as mortal this year. He'd be a receiver or safety at CU, I suspect.

To the OP, my stepdaughter is coming to visit this week. The one who grew up in Colorado, but was sucked into the inexplicable bug eater vortex after running track at Kearney (instead of Greeley). Her hubby is nub-raised and unreachable, but I'm hoping to bring them to Orygun, for the children's sake. Send karma.

The thing with Luke is that I truly believe he could have been Christian-esque had he embraced the RB/slot WR position, rather than forcing his way to QB. Christian was the most phenomenal athlete I've ever seen in person at the HS level. Many say Luke is actually better. For his sake, I truly hope Nebraska has told him he is coming in as an Athlete, who will get a shot at QB, and not QB-only.

Given he's going to Nebraska, I hope they try to do something stupid like trying to turn him a Manning type of pocket passer.

I agree that would be best for him, but I can't imagine he wasn't told he would get far more than a shot at QB...otherwise the Nebraska commitment makes zero sense. All the other boys went to strong academic institutions that would provide them with a solid education. Nebraska doesn't do that at all...plus he is going to have to live in Lincoln. So the only thing that makes sense is they are bringing him in as a QB and are going to keep him there for at least a couple years to try and develop him. Otherwise....why Nebraska?

His father probably has it in for us-none of the four have really even considered CU.

Because nobody else was offering as a QB. No big time program is going to shut down their QB recruiting for the cycle for an athlete who has minimal QB reps and hasn't really proven he can play the position. That's my point; I don't understand how he has this grand idea that somehow the QB position is his best opportunity for success in college and gives him a shot at the NFL, something that has to be on his mind with two brother who made it to the league. I just can't believe Ed agrees with the decision.

nubs and mccaffreys have the same delusional thoughts

I will always wish a kid the best, but the fact that he is a 4* recruit is so deceiving. It would be interesting to see if they could break out the stars based on position. As a raw athlete with the right fit, he is a 4*. As other positions, he is likely a high 3* RB, and a low 3* QB. My only beef is that there is an article about how he is now in the position to recruit kids to NU, and thus he is talking about all the Colorado kids he is encouraging to come to NU along with Tate W. If I am a kid from the beautiful state of Colorado and I am getting excited about where to spend the next 4-5 years of my life, then I would never in a million years choose the flat and ugly plains of Nebraska, especially boring old Lincoln! Considering where Luke could go to school, there are at least 50 better options. I hope the smart CO kids do not even consider Nebraska, and kids should be required to live in that city for at least 1-2 weeks before they commit. If they lived in Lincoln for a week, they would beg to come home.

From 4BienemyTDs post: "I would never in a million years choose the flat and ugly plains of Nebraska,"

The quoted portion of 4BienemyTDs post is from such an ignorant viewpoint. There is so much of the state of Colorado that is dry and barren. Nothing to look at except for crap house sites with junk around them. And not to mention some of the ****hole towns located on the front range and even found in the mountains themselves. Some here better look in the mirror before posting the complete trash they do. Seems like they are lemurs or sheep following for the sake of following.

Every state has its issues, but I'll take Nebraska and most of its people. At least they are genuine.

I don't mean to offend the good Allbuff members on this board. Thanks for the rant.

GBR!

BuffSurveyor I just have one question: Do people from Lincoln plan vacations to Denver, Steamboat, Telluride, Colorado Springs, Durango more often than people from Boulder planning trips to Lincoln or York or even magnificent Norfolk? Yes, eastern Colorado has a barren look and feel to it, but even that part is more dynamic and exciting in my opinion than most anywhere in Eastern Nebraska. I would argue that because Nebraska looks like Nebraska is why they are so passionate and committed to Football, because there is absolutely nothing to do whatsoever. I would admit that Nub fans are nuts about their team, that is because they are nuts to live there and need something to distract themselves. I want to win these games so badly the next two years and I believe that the stage is set better than it could have ever been for us to do so. (Thank you Mike Riley!) I would also advocate for only scheduling the Huskers twice per decade because there is no advantage to going to Lincoln to play or recruit!!! Rather be in Houston, or Dallas, or Norman, or anywhere but Lincoln, and while we are at it up in Fort Collins. What does Genuine mean?

I wonder how many football players stick around the Lincoln/Omaha area after their playing days are over? My guess would be none! There is no reason to.

I will say... Omaha gets short changed. It’s a decent town.
Especially the newer areas. I think it's a really nice mid-sized city, fwiw. All that money from Buffett, his execs and other business that have ridden the coattails of their success have done a lot for Omaha.

Part of the reason you won't hear me saying bad things about Creighton. I wish the Buffs would schedule a home & home with them in hoops.

Omaha isn’t a bad place to live aside from the high taxes and Fusker fans. There are quite a few Fortune 500 companies based here so there are people from around the country and world who live and work here. When you are in Omaha isn’t a given that everyone who you meet is a Fusker fan.

Actually, I was talking about the downtown area. A few good art galleries and cigar shops with a cigar bar. Some good restaurants. You could do worse.

Lol Surveyvor probably thinks Vail and Telluride are ****holes, if he can find them on a map. Let's make a few things clear-Nebraska is a ****hole. The biggest ****hole in the country. It makes Mississippi look like Hawaii. As far as the Husker fans themselves, I've never been around a fanbase I've despised more. You treat visitors to your crappy stadium like **** (was there for one of the beatdowns we handed Bill Callahan-and I can honestly say I was shocked at how poorly your fanbase treated us.......I kept reading about how you were the nicest fanbase in sports before I got to that dump), and you expect everybody else to bow down in your presence. You can't have your corn and eat it too. I disagree with something @4BienemyTDs said-I want your sorry team on our schedule every year so we can beat you every year. You will NEVER, EVER compete with the likes of Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State. Does your fanbase remember the last conference championship you played for, much less won? Enjoy football irrelevance.
